A Conversation for Harry Potter

There are young staff members?
Oh, wait for Sirius, he'll be lovely even if he is old.
(Snape? I know it's twisted, but I like him)

Rowling said some "special friend" of Harry's is gonna die in the next book (has this been discussed already - I am notorious for not back-logging). So who is it gonna be? A friend at university told me (during a lecture) that she thinks it is gonna be Hagrid.
Morbid me prefers the idea that Hermione turns out to be from the DARK SIDE and Harry has to kill her. Else Ron makes a good victim - the misery factor would just be enormous. (That is unless Dudley overeats and explodes...)
And a lot of people will go DARK. Percy is a goner, I think.
The Future....
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 27, 2002
well, I think Percy will follow Fudge blindly into the next book, and one of them will die - if it's Fudge Percy will suddenly go racing back to the fold I reckon.
I think ultimately Dumbledore, Lupin and Snape will go in the last two books
The Future....
Catwoman Posted Nov 27, 2002
(please don't kill snape?)
Hermione and the dark side? She isn't at the mo, but could be deceived because she relies on thought more than feeling, so she could think she was doing what was best but would in fact be working for the dark side. (I miss the real Saruman)
Dumbledore is gonna die. But in doing so he'll weaken Voldemort so that Harry can take him (no way would he be able to do so otherwise).
The Future....
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 27, 2002
I think Dumbledore will go in book 6 - Harry has to go it alone in the last I think, and defeat Voldemort without D's aid.
I think Lupin, and possibly/probably Snape will sacrifice themselves for the cause in the end. Lupin rather than Sirius, because Sirius has to do the surrogate father thing for Harry, and it wouldn't be much fun to spend a long life as a werewolf, so JKR may give him a noble way out.
The Future....
FABT - new venture A815654 Angel spoiler page Posted Nov 27, 2002
i think harry will die at the end of book 7.
but i do agree that there will be several deaths and people turning to the dark side. Any one think that Neville Longbottom is the guy that will either save the world or destroy it.
The Future....
Yelbakk Posted Nov 27, 2002
Knowing Neville, he might just end up doing both...
So let's do a list:
Hermione - has been on Voldemort's side from the very beginning: she is just to overly good and smart. Think about it in terms of pride and ambition and trying to be better than the rest at all times. (Mind you, though, I just love her in the books...)
Ron - Too faithful a friend not to sacrifice him off
The Weasely family - they are all dark, too. Remember, real pure bloods. Their poverty is just a fake alibi.
Dumbledore - He is the new Voldemort; he certainly has the powers. That's why He-whose-name-I-will-not-type-now was so afraid of him.
The Malfoy family - they are all evil anyway and will die in an unexplained catastrophy.
Everybody turns out to be evil and dark, and Dudley will save the day.
The Future....
Catwoman Posted Nov 27, 2002
Dudley is insignificant, won't do anything useful.
Voldemort wouldn't LET Hermione be on his side if he knew.
Leave the Weasleys alone please.
The Future....
The Rogue aka Phoniex Posted Nov 28, 2002
harry is gone yes but i think that percy will go on to the dark side as he is desperate for power

Talking of the Dursleys, I re-read book 4 recently, and noticed that according to Voldemort (when he's talking to Harry / Death Eaters just before they duel), Dumbledore has invoked 'ancient magic' which means that Harry can't be harmed when he's with his relations (i.e. the Dursleys)... therefore, I think that they can't really have anything more to do in the books other than annoy Harry.
Something is bound to happen between Harry and Cho in this book, though... what that is, I don't know...
I think it'll be Fudge that dies, most likely due to his own incompetence.
The Future....
Catwoman Posted Nov 30, 2002
I think harry's destined to be a loner until he fulfils his destiny, so nothing can happen with Cho (plus her boyfriend's just died)
The Future....
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 30, 2002
If Harry wakes up to anyone it'll be Ginny - but I think even that's unlikely, at least till the very last book. Or she might just get over him. I agree that things happening with Cho are very unlikely - she's going to grieve over Cedric, plus Harry blames himself for the death and would probably feel he could never move towards her because of that.
The Future....
Catwoman Posted Dec 1, 2002
Aww, I do think Ginny is lovely.
And that'd make Harry and Ron brothers.
The Future....
Catwoman Posted Dec 4, 2002
aww, sweet. nice plans, not plans for deaths like some people have been having.
