you can't by definition, alchemy is the art of making the elixer of life, and turning all metal to gold, it says that in the books somewhere. The philosophers stone is the best way to do that, you can't do anymore.

The Rogue aka Phoniex Posted Dec 11, 2002
there isnt levels of alchemy its all as different people approach it
The Future....
Catwoman Posted Dec 11, 2002
Alchemy is more than just that. Dumbledore can have helped with alchemy within his normal lifetime because there's a lot to alchemy and Flamel wouldn't stop doing something just because he'd done the best thing. If you win the world cup that doesn't mean you then retire because you can never beat that achievement.

But if you were a scientist and discovered the ultimate theory of everything then you wouldn't carry on trying to find it, that is the aim of science, just like the PS is the aim of alchemy. The world cup is a flawed example because there are lots of world cups, you can still carry on winning world cups again, if there was only ever going to be one world cup then you might not continue.

I am a and if I discovered the theory of everything I wouldn't give up. You's still keep tinkering, just in case people were wrong and there was something else better.
Nicholas Flamel was still an alchemist, even after he discovered the Philosopher's Stone.
The Future....
The Rogue aka Phoniex Posted Dec 12, 2002
yeah you might want to prove someone elses theory wrong just because you do something well doesnt make the world stop turning

So, to conclude, Dumbledore was no on the elixir of life, and is not going to die. (well, he might die, but probably for a better reason)
The Future....
Tango Posted Dec 13, 2002
That much i agree with, there is no way Dumbledore will die for such a pathetic reason.

Catwoman Posted Dec 13, 2002
Definitely. And the conclusions that can be jumped to are enormous, even when there's very little basis in the books for them.
*worries*
Maybe we're doing that with R&H?!?
nah. It's gonna happen.

I think Harry and Cho is more likely. They killed of Cedric Diggory so Harry has a good chance now. I can't see any other reason to kill him.

The Rogue aka Phoniex Posted Dec 14, 2002
but harry thinks its his fault cedric died and cho loved him, he would never step in on cho now (poor dear)
The Future....
Tango Posted Dec 14, 2002
he will eventually, cho will have to pursuade him that it wasn't his fault first.

i dunno i think she likes him more as a mate

really don't see Harry and Cho happening - he feels too guilty over Cedric - regardless of what Cho may try and persuade him. I think if Harry will have anyone it will be Ginny.
The Future....
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Dec 16, 2002
I prefer the idea of Harry staying alone - but Harry and Ginny has more potential than Harry and Cho or Harry and Hermione.

Ginny hero worships Harry, that is not a good thing to base a relationship on.
