Quotes - Who said them?
Duncan Posted Jul 13, 2001
Nice job, Austin!
I always loved "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World"....ever since I was a tike.
Here's another:
"What have I ever done to make you treat me so disrespectfully? If you'd come to me in friendship, then this scum that ruined your daughter would be suffering this very day. And if by chance an honest man like yourself should make enemies, then they would become my enemies. And then they would fear you."
This one should be easy.
I'm off to grab some while you ponder this one.
Quotes - Who said them?
Mycroft Posted Jul 13, 2001
That sounds suspiciously like Brando aka Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather.
How about
"He's taking the knife out of the cheese! Do you think he wants some cheese?""
Quotes - Who said them?
Mycroft Posted Jul 13, 2001
The person saying the line is drunk, if that helps.

Mycroft Posted Jul 13, 2001
You can have another quote from the same character:
"I race cars, play tennis, and fondle women, BUT! I have weekends off, and I am my own boss."
Quotes - Who said them?
Wolfie Posted Jul 15, 2001
Dudley Moore in one of his best roles - Arthur. (the drunk clue should have given it away really).
OK, here we are:
"Birds, man, Birds. Do ya no have them in the States?"
Cheers

Duncan Posted Jul 16, 2001
I shoulda known that one....but in my own defense, it has been years since I have seen 'Arthur'.
Wofie - I am not sure your new one rings any bells in the belfry of my mind.
Anyway.....time for me to catch some , so I leave you with this:
"I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area, and you multiply, and multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet, you are a plague, and we are the cure."

Rama - now floating around the world on Her Majesty's Finest Posted Jul 16, 2001
That's definately Agent Smith in The Matrix.
How about:
"Ah, I see your Swartz is as big as mine!"
Rama
Quotes - Who said them?
Wolfie Posted Jul 16, 2001
So, nobody's guessed it yet. It is from one of the all-time classic fims (you've probably all seen it a million times - usually at Christmas).
From the same scene, to give you a clue:
"What do they call a mole in Scotland?"
"A mole."
"Aye."
Any guesses?

Quotes - Who said them?
Mycroft Posted Jul 16, 2001
That'll be Steve McQueen and some Scots in 'The Great Escape'
Next up:
"Don't fight it, son. Confess quickly - if you hold out too long you could jeopardize your credit rating.
Quotes - Who said them?
Rama - now floating around the world on Her Majesty's Finest Posted Jul 17, 2001
That would be Brazil during Jonathan Pryce's interrogation. Don't know the other actor of the top of my head though.
"Well, look happy you stupid b*st*rds, we won didn't we?"
Rama
Quotes - Who said them?
Wolfie Posted Jul 17, 2001
That would be Bill (can't remember the actors name) in the Italian Job, just after they've pulled the heist and have all clambered back into the dormobile.
The original quote from Great Escape (the one about the moles was a helpign hand) was said by Archibald "Archie" Ives, when he and Hilts are first sent to the cooler.
OK, next up is:
"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't take it out and use it, it's going to rust."
Cheers

A clue:
It was from a sequel that largely contradicted the much better original film.

That's from the abominable Highlander 2.
Here's an incredibly easy one...
"Wait a minute, wait a minute, you ain't heard nothing yet..."
Quotes - Who said them?
Wolfie Posted Jul 21, 2001
Here's a nice easy one for you:
"I'll find him for three. But I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten."

Deek Posted Jul 21, 2001
That was Quint, (Robert Shaw)in 'Jaws'.
How about, (just before the greatest fight scene ever):
'Red wine with fish, well, that should have told me something'.
All the best,
A.M.
