The H2G2 Cycling Club

19 Conversations

In celebration of the greatest invention in history, according to BBC Radio 4's Today programme: the bicycle!

Greetings, , and welcome to the clubhouse. Prop your bike up in the corner where a team of highly dedicated cycle fairies will polish and oil it (using only the highest quality Finish Line lubes), pull up a comfy chair and help yourself to a banana.

Footnote: I am very busy in RL at present and in any case spend more time on Usenet than here, so if anyone wants to take over this particular bit of the world, feel free.

Purpose of the Club

The purpose of the H2G2 cycling club is to meet and share information. If other hikers want to know bike-related things and don't posess a copy of Richard's Bicycle Book, they are welcome to trundle over here and ask. I'll also happily link any cycling-related entries here.

To this end I'm working up what I hope will become a collaborative entry on cycling. This should link to the articles on bicycle gearing, mountain bikes, touring bikes and so on. I hope.

Membership, rules, all that jazz

Membership is free, all welcome, from the occasional trundler to the True Cyclist®. Members of the Cyclists' Touring Club and League of American Wheelmen 1 are especially welcome, if only because it makes me feel less isolated to know that there are others out there who share my hobby.

I'm a cyclist!

Cycling on H2G2

Entries are linked in alphabetical order, unless I cocked it up (in which case they will be when I fix it). I am scavenging the guide as I get spare minutes.
