DON'T PANIC!
Come on in, sit down, help yourself to cakes...
You will need...
300g self raising flour
100g margarine
100g sugar
200g milk chocolate chips
2 eggs
2 teaspoons mixed spice
1 or 2 tablespoons of milk
1. put oven on gas mark 4 / 180 degrees centigrade
2. mix margarine and flour with fingers or an electric mixer until it has the texture of fine bread crumbs.
3. add sugar, chocolate and spice and mix in.
4. add eggs and mix in thoroughly.
5. your blob of cake mixture should be like play doh and should stick back together when pulled apart. If it's more powdery than that, mix in small drops of milk at a time until it is. Test it by touching it with the tip of your finger... if when you pull your finger away it sticks to your finger like melted cheese then you've added too much milk. They'll still come out okay, but you'll know better for next time.
6. Lay a sheet of tin foil dull side up on a baking tray and sprinkle a thin layer of flour over it.
7. Break mixture into 16 equal pieces and arrange on tray.
8. Bake in oven for 15 - 20 minutes until lightly golden and firmish.
9. Allow to cool for 10 - 20 minutes... now they are at their optimum warm spicy chocolatey perfection.:-P
