EYE don't believe it!

Post 1

My last post on my Journal got yikesed.

I absolutely did not say anything racist, homophobic, ageist, sexist, offensive, derogatory, intended to disturb the community etc...I would think that 'you lot' know me better than that.

A1l i can imagine is that, in the course of a really quite personal response to Lady P, regarding the RL situation between me & p; i used the Dreaded Asterixes to lighten the tone, could be seen as 'walk' 'work' 'wink'.....or the Word that dare not squeak its name?

So,shall we transfer to another thread; no doubt i will say something naughty here too; more details via email if you wish.

I had a perfectly harmless post yikesed on Friday Terri, and as far as I can see I didn't break any house rules. I shall be interested to see if it reinstated on Monday, though the thread has fizzled out a bit since then. Perhaps someone is button happy smiley - grr

I wouldn't worry about it overmuch. A trigger-happy mod once put me on premod for three days with no explanation. smiley - shrug These things happen.

I think it was probably because i asterixed out a word beginning with W; which could have been interpreted as 'walk' or 'work' or in small minds a D.I.Y activity.smiley - rolleyes

Better be careful when discussing cutlery; knife is OK, but fork may not be...

Meanwhile, our visitors depart tomorrow, today P took them & Woolie Bear up the hill to his cave; they all returned exhausted & hungry!

We are trying to sort out schedule for my hootoo meet in Germany; hope to combine it with a short visit to P's Mother, who lives nearby; dreading the complicated travel arrangements, but feel i should stop off & see her.smiley - hug

It will be lovely to meet some fellow hooters i haven't yet met in RL!smiley - biggrin

Any of 'you lot' planning hootoo meets?

I have been de-yikesed! Seems the dreaded auto-mod picked up on the 'W' word, despite the **.

Since there are now only two Italics for h2g2 & Elton seems to be hibernating, i suppose it's inevitable. Still seems rather sad though, i doubt DNA would like this development of the site.

Our visitors have departed, A by smiley - bus to a cattle farm, B hitching to see his fiend, armed with glowing references from me; he may return in Summer; he likes it here, A doesn't "too cold & dirty" Ho hum; win some, lose some eh!

Hi Terri hun. I doubt I'll ever make it to a hootoo meet, since most of them happen in Europe. I'd love to go visit PC as well, but money and travel concerns are formidable.

Ah me, been feeling a bit down this week. However, I've downloaded the new Firefox, and am finding the new "personas" - decoration for your browser - to be colorful and fun.

Travelling to London is such a trek (I have panic attacks when I am in unfamilar places, especially if they are crowded), there are no buses to the local train station and it's a forty minute walk. When I get there, there is a 3 foot gap between the platform and the train and my legs are not as nimble as they used to be and it's quite an ordeal getting on and off the train as I have to leap on whils holding to the insides of the train and getting off is just as scary.

You can call me TC

Why do you have to leap on whils?

Well; it's a tough job; but someone's got to do it.

Today we've been trying to work out German meet schedule, i've decided to extend my stay by going from Mannheim to Neustadt to visit P's Mutti, stay overnight Sunday, travel back Monday.

I will just have to find a strange person to cling to in terror, poor soul!

Aye Bee smiley - piratewench has agreed to me staying over with her in Dublin before & aftersmiley - tasmiley - hug; so now all i need is a crash (Nein!!!) course in German, find out if visit date suits Mutti...& book the flights. Wondering if it's possible to request assistance if long distance is involved in transfers; i am fine on flat surfaces but not steps or steep slopes...P says Mannheim is flat, so i should be OK.

All rather scary, strange i guess; since i used to navigate my way across several continents...the idiot leg nonsense is rather limiting & unpredictable.

Today we finished fencing (wires to keep animals in; not sword fighting!)& fed smiley - sheep, one of whom seems set to have triplets by the size of her tum! Finished planting Spring seeds at last. Tried to do a survey online, but the dam thing crashed 'cos i refused to categorise my status income wise.

My choices were:
Employed full time (salary option)
Employed part-time (salary)
Unemployed (seeking wORK)
Unemployed (not seeking WoRk)
Homemaker with no income
Student
Self employed
Does not wish to disclose

How to feel like a non-person...i am mainly 'homemaker' but also get money from P, do assist him in his woRK, also have my own self-employed projects; am not seeking full-time wOrK, but am seeking WorK i can do from home...i can't tick any box can I?

So: my effort to woRk from home seems to have failed!

Anyone else been in this position?

I did! Then it abandoned me , after i'd spent an hour doing the dam questionnaire for the 3rd time & persuaded my partner to do it for the 2nd time!

I sent them a snotty email; they didn't respond to my partner's previous polite one at all.smiley - grr

Ja, i'd employ you, maybe a job as pilot dropping sacks of flour over inadequate internet survey companies!smiley - evilgrin
