EYE don't believe it!
zendevil Posted May 6, 2010
Thanks all of you
I think i am slowly getting over the Evil Bug, but still extremely tired, dunno what it was/is, i didn't go to Doc 'cos i don't wish to be locked up in hospital yet again and pumped full of antbiotics.
Maybe it's Schwein Flew? (latest creation of multinational drug companies)but more likely as TC says, exposure to lots of people, in lots of types of transport and, yes, homes for the elderly are often not the healthiest of places.
I hope i feel better tomorow 'cos i want to gou into town selling The Big Issue...see Guide Entry A405325.

Where are you Zendevil? Please tell me you're not still sick. Send us word. I'm doing well.

Hiya "you lot"
Well, turns out it was pneumonia and pleurisy, eventually i gave in and saw doc, yet more dam antibiotics, to which my tum reacted violently....but at least managed to avoid hospital! Hopefully tummy yuk should gradually get better once i finish the course in a few days time, but meanwhile it's a total pain.
I'm just laying low and hibernating right now, no energy to do much more.Need to build up my strength 'cos P is going to be away a lot, working (50 Inspections, longest list yet!) plus a reunion with his old housemates in Germany and visit to Mum, then his mate is getting married in Italy....i will probably go along for that, we are working out travel routes, may hopefully be able to take a Real Holiday and visit Hydra, my Greek island.
I have my first appointment with CBT therapist soon, thankfully he is in the village, P can take me to that, but when he's away, i am pretty stranded....seeing Social Worker later this week, she may have some ideas re: the isolation aspect.
Good to hear you are doing well JEllen
How about the rest of you? What have you all been up to lately?

I had an Avon party! A party in which my friend sold cosmetics and such. And then I had a neighbor over for dinner. So I've been doing a lot of socializing.
Terri, get well fast.

I feel really guilty that you got home from Germany and ended up with pneumonia.
Please get well soon.
.... whatever helps...

Sorry to hear about the pneumonia and pleurisy. I've had pleurisy in the past- mainly with bronchitis- and it hurts like hell.
If you're not feeling better within the week, please go for a PET scan. My mother finally got around to having herself hospitalized for pneumonia about six weeks ago. The pneumonia was caused by small-cell lung cancer; she'll be dead within a few months. Had she insisted on tests, instead of settling for a course of antibiotics, back in November when she first got sick, the prognosis for treatment might have been better. Always better to be checked out than to leave it.

Oh, PC, so sorry about your mother...does she know the prognosis?
As for me, now the antibiotics are finshed, i feel much better, though Doc wants me to have chest X raz just in case. Itäs been a prettz evil time )garrgh German computer=
No energie yo, P just sorted it!
Now getting set up for latest Solar Infection Tour in Wicklow, en vacance in their Ritz Hotel Cattery, we are taking Woolie Bear with us. Here's one of those nice phone conversations PC likes:
zdt: "hello, is that the XYZ Hotel?
Unsuspecting Receptionist: Yes, thank you for calling
zdt I'd like to book a room Thursday to Saturday for two people
UR: No problem
zdt:Oh, and a

Erm, we don't take dogs except for blind dogs

>>>
UR heard tapping on computer frantically....
UR: Erm, i think that comes under blind dogs, so it's OK.
zdt: Jolly good. Can we have a nice quiet room on the ground floor please?"
Said Dog is a total lunatic of course and far more likely to cause me disability than be of any practical assistance, unless i need balls retrieving
But she has her uses when searching for accomodation
I have my appontment with CBT shrink on Thursday, wish him ! His name is P, same as "my" P, that should make for total confusion all round.

The oncologist guessed 2-5 years with treatment, a few weeks to a couple of months without. She opted not to have chemo, and started hospice care last week. Because she's so heavy, she won't waste away all that quickly even though she's not eating anything, but it won't be very long.
Thanks for the thoughts.

I am back (oh, OK, front, sideways;whatever...)
PC: I am in total agreement with Mum's views, give her a huge from me, the hootoo meet in hell or heaven will be Nirvana Don't RIP, Kurt Cobain, I'm coming!!!!!
We did Wicklow, i continued my Hospital Career in Bray A/E Dept at 2.am, usual stupid leg stuff, no fun, multiple bruised arms from blood tests....WHY can they not accept info i give them re: fragile veins? Back of hand works, arms don't.
So: yet more bloody antibiotics and twinned with toilet, but aparently blood tests normal....so WHY am i in this state? Now have decent Social WorkerSarah and CBT guy is great. Doc is also great, all seem to agree that i should go the wheelchair route now, no point being in this much pain and, yes, i do take sugar!
I seem to have been appointed the best vendor of Big Issue in Eye Land, plus today had a nice man here counting rare species of plants and insects ( we have lots) (Willem, he knows S.A and would love to communicate with you....email me and i wil pass on yours if you want)
So may have nice Eco Fiendly work sitting counting etc....
Meanwhile, P is away in Dublin. staying with Aye Bee Wench, much may happen!!!!....that's what hootoo fiends are for!
TRiG, can you email me re: the Ubuntu thing, i am still using P's spare computer, how about another rural weekend here, lovely tame , goats, etc!!!!!
to"all you lot"......so when do we have the Eye Land meet here?
