I'm here but it is very quiet on h2g2 generally it seems to me. Summer, gardens, school holidays etc. take people away I guess.

Me be back; beware!
Yes, busy here this time of year; Musicweek; great fun but late nights.
Lots of garden work; harvesting fruit etc.
Planning our trip to Italy for P's friends wedding.
Weekly visits to for check-ups on P, ex-lump healing nicely, but possible heart problem
is lovely, but naughty, neighbours insisting we keep her chained up, she goes visiting & apparently scares children and chickens....if we keep her on a chain in my view she is likely to get More naughty from boredom & lack of exercise.
Went to a car boot sale the other day; we are probably going to set up a stall, sell jam; Big Issue, entertain with puppet theatre etc...could be fun & brings in a few extra £ with luck!
Lots of DIY work on the house; more insulation for winter; extra shelving in porch, better lighting in kitchen (my vision in dim light is really bad now)
Oh gawd; the donkey is he-hawing; better go!
So what are the rest of you up to?

Hi Terri!
Boy you have been busy!
Great to hear from you again!

Hello Terri
I am glad that P's ex-lump is healing well but sorry to hear about his possible heart problems.
If I could have a choice of place to live, I would live on one of the Western Isles. I have lived in Scotland before and I have visited the Isles of Arran, and stayed on the Isle of Mull and Iona. And I long to go back there again.
I have been without internet access due to my internet provider losing my authoriation code and I have only been just over a week.
Last Sunday a black and white came into my flat and even sat on my knee and gave the a saucer of milk which it had (not sure if it was male or female) and then went off. Had a very sweet meow and purr.
I have seen an earwig in my flat today and it has been ages since I have seen a earwig and I even had a butterfly come in and flutter next to my blue butterfly mobile in the kitchen.

Ignore the neighbors. Leashes are fine, but never leave a dog unattended for long on a chain. It makes them mean, twists their brains. Where I live it's sadly normal to chain up dogs. I did it to one of mine and that dog became quite vicious around other animals especially other dogs.
From the U.S. Humane Society website:
---------------------------------------
Dogs tethered for long periods can become highly aggressive. Dogs feel naturally protective of their territory; when confronted with a perceived threat, they respond according to their fight-or-flight instinct. A chained dog, unable to take flight, often feels forced to fight, attacking any unfamiliar animal or person who unwittingly wanders into his or her territory.
Numerous attacks on people by tethered dogs have been documented. Tragically, the victims of such attacks are often children who are unaware of the chained dog's presence until it is too late. Furthermore, a tethered dog who finally does get loose from his chains may remain aggressive, and is likely to chase and attack unsuspecting passersby and pets.
---------------------------------------
Fences and training are much better alternatives.

I should note that I chained my dog on the request of neighbors.

Yes; maybe i should request he chain his bull, since it invades our land & scares me & is far more dangerous than an 8 month old .....totally agree with your viewpoint on chaining CZ.
(In fact, said dog actually is friends with bull and licks his nose ring)
Still waiting to find out results of P's heart thing; meanwhile we are planning our Italy trip and doing lots of garden stuff.

Hiya "you lot";; a quick update from this end:
Been on a fairly intensive Solar Inspection tour in County Kerry for a week, P seems to be in great demand; he has another load to do in Cork also; not sure if i will go with him on that one; it's so expensive boarding the cats.
Had another wretched episode of coughing up blood last few days; seems to be calming down now, but may need to get the nasty little blood vessel cauterised ...might consider getting this done in Italy; now have an EU medical card
Still plotting the Italy trip; we will probably go via train & ferry & take our time; wow, a real holiday!!!!!
Fruit harvest this year is great, jam-making is in overdrive mode; plus we have massive tomato forest; i am constantly transplanting stuff into bigger pots etc.
Woolie Bear is growing into a Real ,Apparently Golden Retrievers do eventually grow up; but it may take 10 years Fritzcontinues to Seriously Relax; Yoda is..well, just Yoda, beautiful, vocal, demanding, joined at the hip to me.
So: what are the rest of you up to?

Awww......we must meet up soon for and gossip etc!
Me be Big Brave girl yesterday & went to ENT Unit at Sligo Hospital After waiting 4 hrs, eventually a nice African stuck a camera down my nose, into my throat; seems the naughty blood vessel is way back, will need an actual op to sort it "Don't worry, we will put you to sleep"
Eeek; makes me sound like an unwanted !
Our wanted has just started her first period; gifts of doggie Tampax very welcome.
Poor P is surrounded by bleeding females!!!
My therapist reckons i am doing well though: " It's normal & logical to be worried when having medical stuff; it can hurt; but *not* rational to expect to be run over every time you cross the road; or earthquakes, floods, war etc"
The trouble is; i seem to have experienced all of those & more; so it somehow seems logical to me to expect disaster; apparently this is labelled "catastrophic thinking"
Ah well; we only die once; unless we are multiple tie-dyed Tshirts

Hello Terri I hope that your treatment will go well at the hospital and that it will stop the bleeding for good in one go.
I am also prone to "catastrophic thinking" due to that everyone time I relax and I think everything goes well, something always crops up with me or my family either in illnesses or accidents or other forms of bad fortune.
I have been involved a very late Spring cleaning and tidying. Still not finished as I have started a Maths course and I have got a heavy cold.
I have joined a walking group that meets up once a week at the local woods in Davy Downs: http://www.davydown.org.uk/ and I make a point of having at least 30 minutes of walking a day.

CZ, you can do better. Can´t you have them bombed from orbit? No explosives, just a shuttle load of rotten eggs to show you care.
Key: Complain about this post
