as transfering affection electronically ain´t the real thing...whenever you feel the need to dispense s, just cuddle the nearest animal instead of us (this includes P).

Oh, Terri, you know me well enough to know I won't be giving the woman any hugs. I pity her the pain she is in, and that her life is at an end, but she's been a miserable, mean person my whole life and I haven't got enough emotional investment to feel any real sense of loss.

It was unfortunately her belief in an imaginary friend and an afterlife that made her choose this route. I might well make the same choice myself in dire circumstances, but not because of any B.S. about "heaaven".

Sorry to hear about the wheelchair, but at least you'd be able to get around without falling on your ass. We don't want you breaking any bones or anything.

Well done, Terri, for hanging on in there till you find someone to look after you who knows what they're doing and who care about you. I wish you all the best for it.

Well, of course, the day after K and I booked a rental car and I scheduled vacation time from work... my mother died today.

We may go down there as originally planned anyway, or we might postpone till summer's over and it's not so hot down there. I dunno.

Aww, PC....sorry haven,t been online much, seem to be Major Beast problems here lately, TRiG has also had probs and we are trying to get hold of him, he's probably coming to stay for the weekend, but don't know what time he's arriving at Ballyremote station; if anyone spots him online, can you ask him to ring us, his voicemail is switched off.

At this end, dam legs have been playing up yet again, now on yet another type of antibiotic, which at least doesn't seem to tie me to the toilet so much. The Occupational Therapist is apparently coming to "asess" me very soon, i am re-applying for Disability Benefit, f i get it and it's back-dated 2 years, be afraid, be very afraid.....i may turn up on your doorstep

Ja, Pit, even you may not be safe....plus P is in Deutschland next week, reunion with college fiends from Gutting/ Bremen, then on to see Mutter in Neustadt.

Yesterday i was Extremely Brave or Incredibly Stupid.P has a Special Award plague for " Smallest and first Solar Powered Boat " on an Irish Boat Rally, , so, since it was a nice sunny day, we went out in the thing on the nearest lake. Unfortunately, P managed to forget the Solar Panel and battery was flat

....So it was down to rowing with a lunatic throwing herself in of course; good thing we all had lifejackets on, i was in fact clad in a wetsuit also, what a pity he also forgot the camera!

Jellen, sorry Micio isn't well; Yoda sends and says " Me not well either a couple of weeks back, nasty vetman stuck thermometer up bottom, most undignified, but a couple of nasty jabs seem to have sorted it, so, Micio, get fangs ready for biting nasty"

Terri and company, I have some very sad news. Dearest Micio got very sick on Monday, and passed away quietly on Tuesday. I miss her terribly, and I know you do too. If anyone one wants more information, see my journal, or email me.

Oh JEllen. That is terrible news....

Trish and I know exactly how you are feeling as we lost our dog Lady on Trish's (Mrs. GT) birthday, 9th July last year.

Our doggie was 17 too, and had kidney failure. We hope that they will stay with us for life, but when it comes down to it, they simply do not live as long as we do, and we tend to forget that, especially when they have been with us for a long time.

I know that it is useless me saying that you will get over it; you never will, but remember the happy times, and it WILL get easier.

In your OWN time, get a new companion. Do not do it straight away, you need to get over Micio first.

It took us four months to decide to get Tyson, our companion now. He is totally different to Lady, but is picking up, somehow, some of her old attitudes and mannerisms. We would not part with him now for our weight in gold!!!

The of our neighbours is called Tyson too!

After Edda, P's beloved companion passed on at Christmas, at only !2 years, he was and still is devastated.

But, yes, once the awful grief is somewhat turning to numbness, it does seem time to welcome another animal to share your life, we got Woolie Bear, who is a totally nutty Golden Retriever, completely different to Edda, but does mean there isn't quite such an enormous hole in your life...there is still an animal soul sharing it,a very different one...we often remark " Oh, Edda wouldn't do that!/ Woolie is so dim...she needs lessons from Edda!" etc, but Woolie is a totally different character and i feel it helps keep the lovely memories of Edda alive, whilst welcoming another animal companion to share your love.

GT, i saw you posted here, not on JEllen's journal, i am sure she will see this though.
