i usually pour something like a half pint of into the dough, but i have never made pancakes without
plus i have to cut down on any kind of fat so that is no option either
i succeeded in making some 20 fine pancakes yesterday

My mother used to make some really fine pancakes.
I suspect she used a recipe similar to Yorkshire pudding
but I've never been able to reproduce it.

Yorkshire pudding is a traditional part of my family's Christmas dinner. I personally think it could be skipped, but we have some relatives who *want* it to be a tradition. For a while, I thought plum pudding would also be a holiday tradition, but that was before a certain inlaw tried to flambe the pudding, and ended up setting the table's centerpiece on fire.

She has a nice life, though, living with husband and child in a toney Connecticut suburb of New York City. I'd be fortunate to be as chagrined as she.

I see Pierce has returned again.
Time to resurrect and old joke.

Garcia and Martinez have joined the list of ten most common surnames in America. From here on in, every tenth post of mine will contain some Spanish (not necessarily anything meaningful) out of respect for this demographic.

I've just read the Cormac McCArthy trilogy,
All the Pretty Horses, etc. and he does use a lot
of Spanish dialogue.
My head is still aching from translating it.

I can barely string two Spanish sentences together, and that's with consulting a dictionary and making about 6 errors of grammar. Even worse, I went to Italy in July, and that has disturbed the little bit of Spanish that I do know. Is "per che" a Spanish phrase, or an Italian one? I have no clue.

Si, siempre.
My Spanish is pretty basic and pretty poor at that so
I was reading the trilogy with a dictionary in the other hand.
What made it harder was Mexican Spanish has some different words
to Spain's Spanish so I had to guess some meanings.

That's wine, bread, cheese, and ham, I reckon.
Yes, you could keep body and soul together with that menu.
