Ivan,
DAY 19!! You are doing well. I think it will be a good idea to keep logging it till you feel confident that you have it licked, so I will just add a little just in case.
So what if you got shoes. If it make you feel better, that's all that matters. I've been trying to picture you in a sarong and boots, or a kilt, and I have to say I prefer the kilt. Depends what your knees are like
Working in an office you have to be allowed some imdividuality - have you tried the Henna remedy from Terri yet?

Kea - Magical Mystery Tour is the first song on the album. Most of the lyrics are just 'Roll up, roll up for the mystery tour... / the magical mystery tour is coming to take you away' (etc)

I remember getting the Magical Mystery Tour album for Christmas when I was, um, very young.
Ivan, am joining you 'on the wagon'. Day three now and I sincerely hope I *never* catch up to you!

Day 20 is nearly over! I'm getting good at this!
Az, have a from me. It looks like I have a surplus on this thread. Good luck!
Getting back to the kilts - I'd sooner keep my knees private. They're quite useful items, handy for making legs bend in the middle for easy storage when seated, but I don't think my knees are all that decorative. The world won't miss them. They're available for viewing in summer, under longish shorts, but that's a different matter. I couldn't be doing with winter draughts around them.

Hi, Ivan,
Brilliant, you are heading for five stars soon, but will have to do at the moment. Very pleased for you. Don't want to bore you but I know you can lapse sometimes so hang in there.
AZ - keep it up.

Day 21 is nearly over, and I've managed to get through a truly appalling w*rk lunch without grabbing a smoke at any point, so I'm feeling very smug indeed. Another nine days and I'll stop counting the days and start counting the months. That will feel so good...

In the spirit of things, I have decided to stop getting full sugar cola drinks, I consume far too many. All I need to do is tell myself diet drinks taste as nice
Here's to the abstentionists

Hi, Hl,
Before you get into the spirit of things look up Aspartame on the Net and www.dorway.com. These refer to artificial sweeteners/sugar substitutes and the problems with them.
I think you will think again. I certainly did. Cutting your sugar consumption over all would be a better choice. Quite apart from the sugar, and substitutes in cola drinks, you have colouring and flavouring, all chemicals, and carbon dioxide for the fizz, which in itself is bad for your body. I was something of an addict when I was young and put on a lot of weight as a result. I have been battling the bulge ever since There are dozens of ailments, either caused by, or made worse by fizzy soft drinks.
If you google for aspartame you will see an awful lot, telling both sides of the story. It depends which ones you believe, but clearly the industry, and those it supports have an axe to grind, and their statements should be taken with "a pinch of salt" - and thereby hangs another tale ..........

Yeah, sorry to burst your bubble Iago, but so-called 'diet' drinks are probably much worse for you than the occasional sugar fix.
Aspartame is a very dangerous product and, imo, should not be consumed at all since it is never necessary.
Meanwhile, day five for me. Still no cigs or even a craving for one. You see, this is always my 'dilemma'. I can quit smoking at any time and never get any sort of withdrawal symptoms. But then a week or so later (or even a month or two later) I might go . . . hmmm, feel like a cig . . . and then start up again.
But I really think I'd rather not smoke anymore.

This is Day 22 - I'm into week 4!
As for soft drinks and 'diet' versions of the same thing... It's probably simpler to do without the things at all, rather than replace the real one with an ersatz version. On the odd occasion when I do end up with the 'diet' version (usually by mistake), it just makes me think about how much nicer the real version is.

Yay Ivan!
I don't drink diets because I don't like the taste of sweeteners - so ever since I started WeightWatchers I'm just drinking water. Water's great.

Water is the best thing, I agree, but it can get a little dull.
