at Ivan's reward - that's the stuff you want to be getting, not silly old shoes. Who says oldies don't know how to have fun

Day 16! It is getting easier. Even better than that, the lingering pain from the pneumonia appears to have stopped.
I might celebrate by going into town later to shop for 'silly old shoes'.

Yay! I'd buy what ever makes you happy Ivan even if it does make everyone think you're going to get a blue rinse as well I hope you have a great time with your well-earned wealth

I'm not sure about a blue rinse, to be honest. Blond seems to suit me. Mind you, I have no idea why people think blonds have more fun; if I'm having more fun than the rest of you, well I'm sorry for you, that's all I can say.

I had more fun when I was blond, but I tend to have more fun when my hair is any colour other than its natural brown, I become a lot more confident and out-going. Silly eh?

Could it be that a change in hair colour amounts to a disguise, and you feel free to be just a little more outgoing as you're not dressed as yourself? *thinks - what dodgy pop psychology*

HonestIago Posted Nov 20, 2004
It's just because it looks different, like I'm a lot more confident when I go somewhere new. When my hair is longer and brown it looks great but it takes *ages* to get it there. Not too far off now though and I'm glad its getting long, we're in for a bitter winter here. Lucky antipodeans. It may be going blue quite soon though

Try my secret formula:
Super red henna mixed with either cassis (blackcurrant syrup) or beetroot juice. Life will become sorta different.
"DO try this one at home folks, the hairdresser sure as hell won't do it for you. Wear old clothes, use old towels, this mix is permanent & stains!"

Just catching up on the backlog....
Well done Ivan Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things I have done so I'm always impressed when others do it.
Glad to hear your lungs are coming right too
kea.

Hi, Terri,
Your mixture sounds lethal and the results interesting. It conjures up orange and purple spikes,or is that just the reaction it gets
I had a lot more attention when blonde but eventually got tired of it because it seemed false.
Ivan,
Glad it is getting easier not to . Just a litlle then today. I am sure you are having more fun than me, but don't feel sorry for me, peace and quiet is all I crave most of the time these days
Glad the pain is going. Take care and hang in there. What's your next treat going to be

Day 17! Oh, I'm so pleased with myself!
I have no idea what the next reward will be. I'll have to surprise myself somehow.

Terri, the email's on its way.
I did give myself a treat; it's the silly old shoes, I'm afraid . I made it to the shop this evening after w*rk. Now I just need a haircut, and I'll start to feel human again.
There will be another treat before the end of the week; I've been sent a $20 voucher for one of my favourite bookshops. Sure, I'll end up spending a lot more than that, but it's still a bonus!

Never had Docs!
Then again, I haven't even had a pair of jeans since the early 90's, so who am I to talk about things like this...

I had a secondhand pair of Docs once, didn't fit me so got put away somewhere... I probably still have there somewhere in the mess that pretends to be my room. Got a nice sturdy pair of hiking boots though, which have been serving me very well for the last years.
Actually, I'm going to the mall () today to - perhaps - buy me a pair of regular boots. Imagine that - me, with boots? Other than hiking boots or the likes? Next thing you'll be telling me I'm going to start wearing skirts... (no such intention in the forseeable future)
But yeah, boots. No heels though - can't stand them (or on them, in fact). Should be interesting.
