We got more rain yesterday, an inch and a quarter, than we got all last month. Yesterday a driver either in front or beside me must have taken the opportunity to go "muddin'". As we started off on a green light I heard loud splats hitting my windshield and the hood of my car. At first I thought it might have been a sudden hail storm, but then I saw that it was large dollops of mud. I couldn't figure out which vehicle it was coming from.

Dry again, with humidity dropping, after some unseasonal rains last week, here in the southwestern foothills of the San Bernardino Mts., where I am at present.

If one part of the world is having a cool summer, chances are some other parts will be having unbearable heat.

Like constant basal metabolic rate.

If one part of the metabolism is hyperactive, another is suppressed.

Through raging fever, hypothermic chill, raging delirium tremens, where there is life, basal metabolic rate stays the same.

The areas that are cooler than normal are greatly outweighed by the areas that are warmer than normal.

You wish. We all wish. At least we should. Future generations will not look kindly back on us. They will ask why we did not act on this.
