Sadly, my digestive organs can't walk, but I recommended it to my legs, and they enjoyed it.

Everything is working fine except my abdominal muscles, which have undergone a major reorganization.
Walking provides a means of coaxing a little cooperative action out of them without overtly nagging them, but is still an exhausting process.
On arthritic troubles, there are some new therapies for regenerating osteoarthritic bone loss still in the èarly release stage.
I'll be following the news on that.
My other currently serious arthritic problem is Depuytren's syndrome, especially in my hands, hardening of the lymphatic system on account of buildup of collagen plaques in lymph vessels and vescicles - curiously, avoiding gelatine and other collagen rich foods helps minimize trouble.
My gout problems I've had under control for a long time, simply by means of avoiding red meat except when I've wounds or injuries to heal.
Chicken is a problem on account of too much collagen - turkey is a better choice for me.
Usually my meat selection will be fish of some kind.

You use red meat to heal wounds or injuries
( I know what you mean. Physical traumas can trigger massive gout attacks )

ITIWBS Posted Aug 4, 2017
...as does red meat, while the red meat myoglobins are necessary to heal physical traumas*, though blood transgusions work somewhat better some of the time.
*A point well established in battlefièld medicine, among the reasons why even devout Hindus have a military exemption in such a case.

I believe the jury is still out about this.
Because gout is a very mystical disease.
For example: Considering the number of people with a high level of uric acid in their blood stream a lot more - as in a VERY BIG LOT more - people should have gout. Only they don't.
My brother-in-law lives like a monk - but has gout. A female colleague of mine is also quite saintlike - but has gout.
Me I live like a because who knows if tomorrow ever comes - and only have an attack every 6 to 12 months

I mean the jury still hasn't decided what actually causes gout and what doesn't. Red meat and port? Could just be old wives' tale

ITIWBS Posted Aug 4, 2017
Never did think the port had anything to do with it.
The uric acid link has to do with actual uric acid crystals forming in affected joints.
Stipulated, causality is not perfectly undestood and many people have high uric acid levels without gout.
Most recent serious flareup I had was touched off by chicken fed a synthetic feedstuff formulation compounded with synthetic and inorganic urea.
Made for succulently tender chicken - and global complaints from gout sufferers.
Most people had no trouble with the preparation at all.
As the immunologist who treated me put it, there is no universal answer that works for everyone, all the time.

My thanks also. I'm usually not fond of mixing (except Jynnantonix and the occasional White Russian) but this concoction isn't half bad!

I've had a couple of gout diagnoses, but never with elevated uric acid levels. Of course not! The uric acid would already have my bloodstream for the places where I was having pain. But in the last couple years, when I've been physically more active than usual, I've had much less trouble than I expected.

Meanwhile, thinking over circumstances just prior to the surgical disaster last May, I had gotten a medical clearance prior to all that physical activity, these were things okayed and encouraged.
