I like streams too. very restful, and some beautiful plants like to grow in moist places.

I need to find a way to get out of "civilization once in awhile. It would do me good to see these things in real time.
One easily forgets them otherwise.

For now I'll have to settle for early mornung walkabouts here in the city.

Things are much the same here, life plods along at a very slow and rather unsteady pace. At least my health is good, etc.

I just got back from my father's funeral. I'm debating whether to post what I said about him.

I've planted four azaleas in the last couple of weeks. Three of them are Northern lights azaleas, which are hardy enough to survive the winters in Zone 4. (Boston is in Zone 6, so they will definitely do well here.)

I'm afraid 99 years was not long enough for me to get to really know him. My mother knew him, and if there's any justice in the universe, he's with her now. If there isn't any justice, at least I have some nice memories of them.

time and the universe is eternal and "we" humans haven't a clue what happens next, but everyone has their own "theories and beliefs"

The people we used to know become ever dimmer in our memories as the years go by. Whatever meaning our lives used to have seems to change from time to time.

After the memorial service, I told my brother about a recurring dream in which my father in his late 80s, but my mother recovered from her decrepitude and sailed blithely through her late 90s. My brother thought this was an unusual dream. I told him that Dad never explained anything. If we wanted things explained, Mom was always the one to do it. So, Mom always seemed to be the parent who was there and doing things. It makes sense that I would dream about her in the kitchen and otherwise making the household run.

a proven fact "we" only have knowledge about 1 fifth of our brain, the other 4 fifths we don't - Who knows WHAT humans can become IF we unlock that 4 fifths ?

pc memory cards etc get more powerful each "day" but they haven't reached the human memory capacity yet

Evolution has not been a particularly logical process. A lot of stuff in the human genome is filler. This includes the brain. Things get passed down through the generations just because it's easier to keep passing them down than to jettison stuff that no longer was needed.
