Hello folks!! This weekend I was treated to a full day if bright sunshine, bird call and song, and then to a day of gloomy, clammy blech, and hiding under my covers.

Saturday was absolutely wonderful. The sky was a perfect mix of blue and cloud, and my yard filled with bird chatter and singing. This "real" Spring has brought out groups of mynah, jays, and hummingbirds. Much more I think, than recent years.

All busy hunting worms, or chasing mates

My favorite thing is watching birds coming up to my doorstep and curiously looking inside my room, perhaps confused by the sight of the big weird looking thing inside(me).

I spent the day watching and listening to this, and found myself more relaxed than I've been in a long time.

Even the sounds of speeding cars, and the occasional fire/police sirens didn't cause the anxiety they usually did.
Sunday was nearly perfect in its opposite presentation. Gloom and humidity, with drizzle in the afternoon. Cold, too. I stayed in bed and the day away

If I had more energy, I would be deliriously happy today. Sunshine, purple wild geranium blossoms, the air saturated with sweet scents (the locusts are blooming, and you can smell them for a long distance).

I was admiring my backyard garden, and saw a bumblebee devouring nectar in a dandelion. That's okay, it was servicing my hanging basket of purple/yellow pansies the day before.

I've planted flowers in front of my oil tank, hoping to make it less visible. The bright scarlet lilies I planted there earlier this month are beginning to open up. They are glorious!

None of the flowers in my front yard are blooming yet, but they crave the bright sunshine and hot weather, so they'll be a sea of white and yellow in about a month. There will also be some pink because of the milkweed I added, though I'll have to wait a year or two before that gets old enough to blossom.

(I've always loved milkweed pods. they're one of the great harvest decorations. More milkweed plants are on their way to me, but these will go in the back yard, where they can get more moisture. They're swamp milkweeds....)

"My favourite thing is watching birds coming up to my doorstep and curiously looking inside my room" drop bread crumbs or bird seed at a distance and repeat for a few days, then place a bit nearer to you and so on and so on you might get them "trained" to come really close as you sit very quiet and still of course. I have blackbirds coming within 6/7 ft away

Good idea, it vas a pity you could not attract the "birds" that easily 45 years ago!
