Life is a gamble just crossing the street . And much of my retirement money is in stocks. Nothing says casino like the stock market.

I live and breathetherefore I exist but I need money to have "a life" - existence on it's own ain't "a life" it's just being here..

I too, gamble with existing by crossing the street. Los Angeles is noted for hit and runs and street racing. Both of these took lives just days ago.

We have a Mayor and City Council that have little will to act, however.

You can tell by the rampant displays of such in my neighbourhood.

i can confirm that this is an extraordinary allergy season for southern California generally.

I've been dealing with a stubborn bit of sneezing and watery eyes for the past 2 weeks.

The Superbloom is releasing some exotic pollens, I would guess. Cats and dogs are out in force as well.

When I was on holiday in L.A. in the early 1980's, I was told that there were 2 million cars on the cities registry books
I had an international driving licence and to hire a car there for the day would have cost me £6 ($7.7) = this is at today's exchange not 1980's
but with driving on the RIGHT side, as ours is the left side - I told my mates NO WAY

Not a bad decision, mate. I think that L.A. has the worst drivers in the nation.

THAT 2 weeks holiday there was

The car smash I was in 1978 or 1979 ? - memory (and family can't remember which year also) only hit my short term memory
but I remember L.A. in basically every detail

and bloody fond ones at that

It was a different era, then.

There was excess, yes, but not the insanity you find here today.

it would take me ages to write the experiences I had in L.A I hope I NEVER forget them.
But I'll tell you about them when we meet my friend

but I have to say my friend recentlyweather conditions, especially in your area, hasn't been kind in allowing you certain freedoms of movement etcSO! Even though we have email contact, it's not the same as been in hootoo Here! It's like being in the local barber-shop etc and a group of friends having a few hours chin-wag

I visited "The City" during a Christmas stay with relations a few years ago. It was only for a day, and itit really wasn't enough to really experience the place in full.

I only got to witness midday gridlock, and a brief visit to Pier 19. Saw fat elephant seals laze about the place.

When me and my 2 mates holidayed in Los Angeles, we visited Las Vegas/ Tijuana, but as we were there for only 2 weeks and toured LA as such - San Francisco was the only place we couldn't get to

I wouldn't necessarily say the same today. As for many places, things have just gotten too expensive there in today's .

I had a laugh in LA, mainly on language/slang.

But even over here, I couldn't live in a cityI'm a townie who'd prefer the countryside
