Hello to you, , and welcome!
I am a sound engineer
(not a contradiction of terms - as can be seen in this link,although it may seem like an oxymoron),
and a musician,
living in south africa.
I also teach guitar & bass (albeit from home).
Most of my theory of music is taught on the piano, due to the fact that everybody now uses tempered tuning, as opposed to perfect tuning.
