Mala, when I was your age, I got by with much less, too.
lil, I've never seen the shop quiet in the mornings, the queues sometimes end in the street.
But it will mean that time will pass fairly quickly.

The males in the house will have to learn doing their laundry themselves (son #2 had to do it yesterday ), plus a few other things.

Congrats, Bel!
I won't moan about how this may impact Scrabble, since Chris already has.
But seriously- I'm glad this worked out for you and I hope you'll enjoy working there.

Great news, Bel! Well done!!
Time *does* pass quicker when you've got work. The worst times in the lab are when we're all sat with nothing to do - when the delivery arrives, we're nearly fighting to get to the specimens! Just don't do that to the customers!

early morning scrabble will be safe on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I'll have to see about the other days. I have now done the maths (the 15h/week was a rough guess), and it will be something like 16.6/h a week. I just hope I'll be able to get that done max three days/week. It will either mean I'll have one 13h day plus four 6 to 6h days, or maybe 6 days at 5 to 6 hours.
I guess I'll have to negotiate that.

Good stuff - a little extra never hurts!
(One of the jobs I went for in Germany was in a bakery place, too. The thought of a 5am start is enough to make me relieved I didn't get it. Early rising isn't my strong point, I'm afraid! )

I much prefer to start early in the morning than having to work late (some shops are open until 10.00pm).
When I went to secondary school, I had to leave the house at six am in the morning in order to get the 6.20am train for school. I never had any problems with getting up that early, so I guess I'll get used to it again.

I'm sure you won't have a problem, it's just a matter of getting into the right sleeping pattern. The early finish time does make it worth it, though.

I usually wouldn't have any problem to go to sleep at 9.00pm, but don't do it very often. I guess I can do more often now, though.

If you are into stale bread (and it's bound to be after a week with Royal Mail), I'm sure I should be able to sort something out for you.
There goes my free time down the drain.

Congrats to your new job, B'Elana!
But 5 o'clock in the morning...ouch! Even if lynx regularely wakes me up before that, I can at least go back to
