I could do with a new G string... At around £9:00 to £15:00 replacement cost, I'll take it, no questions asked ... Not that I replace them often... They are pretty robust... About once every two years...
Still can't think why any of you would want a G string anyway... Not as if any of you are dedicated musicians, that I am aware of... Although I do understand squeak a bit and there was a chorister in our midst, but you don't need a G string for that... Just a tuning fork. It's like a but with two tines and a pointy bit!!!

The unwound ones are good for cutting cheese.

No. E strings are better for that... They are thinner!
You could go here and learn all you want to know about string...

Personally I work on Spike's philosophy!
'String! String!
It's a wonderful thing!!!
Rope is thicker,
But string is quicker!'
What a man!!!

I san g the solo to Once In Royal David's City when I was in the school choir, back in '88, but I wasn't wearing a G-String then...

That's all very well but I do. It is New Year's Eve today, and I need a spare G, D A and E string for the evening's festivities... and I can't find them.
How can I play 'Auld Lang Syne' at midnight if I lose my G String?
I'd feel very embarrased, and the talk of the Pub. After all, I do it every year, and most enjoy it!
I guess I shall have to keep hunting, or use a cheap one, but it isn't so comfortable. Doesn't provide the same level of satisfaction, and I do like to give the Public satisfaction... That's why I use 'Dominant' rather than 'Prim'!!! Provides a better service!
