i remember the eight track..... not that we had a car then... but friends and neighbours did, yeah the tunes went on for ages...
i also remember the reel to reel tape recorders, i had one of them many many moons ago...
i see the noddin' has made a come back....
hi sal.
Smudger879n Posted Apr 21, 2004
Yea! PM the nodding got a boost when Churchill used it in their advert for car insurance
I used to have a reel to reel recorder as well, but went for the new cassettes when they came out, as it took up less space in my locker.I was in the Navy at the time
I kept my Eight Track inside my glove box of my car, as one tape would play for yonks, and it was out of sight from car thiefs

hi all..UG,you're lucky.i don't have a waistline anymore
sheryl,i know the feeling well i've been tempted by maternity looking tops for a while now...they look sooooo as if they'd suit me better than my regular tee -shirts and blouses, and thank heavens for s-t-r-e-t-c-h jeans!!As for the shrinkingwhat can i say???????
hi sal.
Paganmoon - Crazy as Ever Posted Apr 22, 2004
best no to say owt sal... lol... morning luv...
i've given up with jeans of any kind, the waist band cuts into me.... everything is elasticated these days.... i live in stretchy jog pants....
the maternity tops sound a good idea luv.... bring back the smock tops, now they were comfy to wear, used to have them back in the 70's...

hi sheryl..i bet i sound like an advert now,but i have my favourite shopping places, and tend to stick to them.george, from asda.do brilliant stretch jeans ,the're really comfortable, and not expensive either.i get my tops from littlewoods extra,or asda again. If we get the chance to go to meaowhall then i go to bon marche,i know,it,it sounds like an older ladies shop, but it isn't when you have a look round,,and they all DO BIG SIZES,
hi sal.
Paganmoon - Crazy as Ever Posted Apr 22, 2004
funny you should mention george at asda sal.... i treated myself to 2 strappy sun vests yesterday, (in the hope we might get some sun... lol) £3 for the pair (2 pack)... i also got shannon 2 tops and 2 pairs of shorts, £6-50 the lot... they do have some good stuff in there.. treated hubby to a hooded zip-up top too....
i don't really have any favourite clothes shops as such, just buy things when summat catches me eye... i look for the bargains, cheap n cheerful....

size 22-24?? is that all???
you are all lucky, im larger than that and i struggle to find cheap clothes. i tend to go to catalogue shops or evans, if im in the money.
ive never been fashion concious and usually take a liking to things when they are out of date.

Hi Folks, Mk2 is having probs with clothes fitting as well these days
She is on Steroids" as part of her medication, which has made her a LOT bigger She seems to buy a lot of stuff from George at ASDA then give it w away to some of her sisters a month later
I was going to get her a track suit, for her jogging, but couldnt get one in her size
Smudger,
hi sal.
Paganmoon - Crazy as Ever Posted Apr 22, 2004
smudger..... you'll be suprised at just wot a large size you can get a joggin' suit these days.... lots of us ladies find them comfy, and they're also refered to as a leisure suit.... not just for exercise..... thank the gods....
hi sal.
Smudger879n Posted Apr 22, 2004

Smudger879n Posted Apr 22, 2004
Hi Serenity, (just popped in from the party) Yea! Mk2 has found a few places where she can buy clothes from.
Its really as the weight she has gained is in all the wrong places?????
Still she has plenty of gear, (so do all her sisters now)
We were having a earlier, coz we reckon that by the time they install our new Walk in shower, my case will probably be settled, and we will be moving any way
Cant wait to, get of here
Smudger,

smudger.... ..
i know you were jokin' luv.... i joke about my jog pants, they're bone idle, won't jog to the washing mashine or owt.... think they're faulty......
but on a serious note, the jog pants are quite comfy as they stretch with you and many have the drawstring waist, so you can draw in or let out at your own wotsit.... lol....
if your keepin' the battery up n runnin' see if helen wants anything from the offy before they shut....... ooooops, wrong thread...... lol....

Hi PM, Just remembered this one, I used to wear a pair of "bright yellow" trackies, with Teddy bears on them, under my squad suit in the ambulance service
Well one night we got a messy job, and I never had my spare suit in my locker Had to sit there in my trackies, praying to God that we never got another shout till my suit had dried
Yep! you got it we got another call............
Smudger.
