Hi Folks, Yep! the 70s were good in some ways I came out of the Navy in 74 and got my first job in the oil industry at a site near my home town,
The money was fantastic, compared to local rates, but the conditions were rough as it was the early days in the construction game
There was a few fatal accidents mind you that was before all this Health & Safety acts were passed
Smudger,

Hi all
I think i must be lucky,as i still have good neighbours(like the old days)mind most of us been here 36 years, whenever anyone ill we always help, and share tools/ladders etc.even look after each others grandkids, even the younger ones that have moved next door to me are great(they have been here about 10 years now)they are quick to help.

good morning all...that's the way it should be be san. When the old back to back houses were around more, when i was young, everyone knew everyone elses business, but there was always a helping hand.I have neighbours that i've never spoken to ,and they've lived here for ten years or more!!!Of course i don't see anyone much because i don't go outside, but it makes for a lonely life sometimes.

Ah Shucks Smurfles, you still got us!!
I know what you mean though, during the winter months we hardly get out at all, as Mk2 is always prone to infections In fact this PC is our only contact with the outside world
Thats why I like this site and besides, I never knew that there were as many Nutters the same as myself!!!
Smudger,

AAAWWWWW,thank you smudger,i don't know what i'd do without all my friends on here, and the ones i keep in touch with on e-mails.This site is a god send, and it does help to be a bit nutty sometimes.I tend to choose the wrong times to come online..either just after i've woken up,or just before i go to bed,in either case i'm usually ing!!

hiya sal...
thanx for the luv, i'll pop it in the fridge for later...
just lookin' out of the window, it's gone all dull lookin', looks like it's going to rain...
can't say that it's cold tho'.... what have they done with our summer... do we have to pay extra tax for it or wot????
hi sal.
smurfles Posted May 13, 2004
Hi sheryl..did you say summer???If i remember rightly that's the time when we sit in the garden, and feel good about still been out at ten in the evening,<!!Ithink it happened while we were asleep, and we missed it
We bought a bench for the garden, only £17 from asda,i think it's gonna last a long time due to lack od use!!!!
It's dull here, and warm enough to warrant shorts and a top,but the neighbours already think i'm nuts,so maybe not eh!!
The weather forecast said sunshine, and warm, the sky says more rain.MUSTN'T BE PAYING ENOUGH COUNCIL TAX!!!XXXX
hi sal.
Paganmoon - Crazy as Ever Posted May 13, 2004
well obviously i don't give a monkeys wot the neighbours think... lol..
i'm wearing a strappy sun vest at the mo., and a long gypsy skirt.... i'll pass on the shorts, best to keep me legs out of sight... lol...
we've still got all our garden furniture from last summer, just needs a wipe down when it's nice enough to sit out n use it.... and i say "when".....
think i'll order some fake tan from the avon... pretend we've had some sunshine...

Smudger,
hi sal.
smurfles Posted May 13, 2004
hello all, according to the weather forecast were to have sunshine tomorrow,I dont think i believe them!!
Sunshine on prescription sounds like a good idea to me....we even had rain on holiday last year...so we travelled all that way to get wet,and the weather in england was beautiful.we're' hanging around until a bit later this time,in the hope of catching some sunshine before we go!!
A lack of sun seems to be making everyone feel tired,,it's time had bright sunny days ...and then we'll only feel tired cos it's too warm to sleep.
