So, for a veggie, how does . . . 'breaded deep-fried onions and peppers', 'sautéed garlic mushrooms', 'grilled tiny spicy green peppers', 'scrambled egg with potatoes', 'selection of cheeses and olives with crusty bread'. . . sound?
Oh, and lots of
Well, that's just for the 'official meet' Saturday evening meal. Further veggie delights await you . . .

Well, we omnivores will also get the best jamon serrano and caña de lomo in Seville - thinly sliced - and some solomillo (pork loin) fillets cooked in a garlic and whisky sauce and also fresh mussels 'delicias' chopped and mixed with spices and served (after grilling) in the shell in a bechamel sauce.
The deep-fried onions and peppers come with breaded and fried prawns on top - veggies can either avoid them or ask for a separate dish without.
Well, and whatever else takes anyone's fancy.
Again, that's just the Saturday night dinner.

Hi all! Is this still a mini-meet (as the subject line said originally) or is it growing big enough to be mentioned in Announcements' page? Or would you prefer to keep it 'informal' so to speak?

Well, oddly enough, even though my other h2g2 self is Kristina the Flamenco Dancer, I've only been to Spain once, and that was some place on the Costa del Sol with fancy yachts in the harbour and way too many golf courses (I've forgotten the name of the place).
Sevilla sounds lovely, but there are no direct flights from Stockholm. I'm currently checking for cheap flights to London and then change there. It seems to be less expensive than flying from Stockholm to - Malaga, I think, and then take a train or something...

Looks a bit complicated from here, too - I'd pay four times the plane ticket in train fares!

Hi Titiana,
You're also Kristina the Flamenco Dancer??? Was the fancy yacht place Puerto Banus (near Marbella)?
There are also direct Paris-Seville flights, so you might want to check that option as well as London - it would be great if you could come!
Re: announcing it in the Post, I think it's best to keep it 'informal' over here. I mentioned before that I don't really want to limit the number of people but if it did turn into something BIG it would mean looking for different places to eat, etc, that would be more suited to large groups - touristy places rather than typical Spanish tapa bars. As it is (thinking there may be up to 15-20 of us) I've had to leave out some of our favourite places for tapas because they are just too small.
So, no announcement, thanks.

I know what you mean, Malabarista. Noggin and I are going to a trade show in Madrid next week and the train is going to cost about 200 euros! Heck, we could fly to London on Ryanair for less than half of that.

Ah yes, Puerto Banus, that's the place!
Informal - yes, I thought that might be what you would prefer after I had checked the postings so far, so informal it is! Numb's the word!

I thought the word was "mum"!

Well, not sure if going to Puerto Banus actually counts as being in Spain, Titiana - I reckon you'd enjoy Seville a lot more.

Promote me from the 'interested' to the 'possible' list, az. I just found a really good deal NY to London that's effective Jan-Apr 3 if I hop on it quickly. Puddle-hopping is the big concern, the rest is all minor details. Woooohooooo!
Ben! Are you ready for an infestation of MoG? Make contact soon, ok?
