Sounds , 'cept for the mask-bit on which I won't dwell.
Ben, huh? She's one of the people I'd like to meet, sort of.
There are those I wouldn't really want to meet because they'd probably be a shadow of what I imagined.
And there are those I wouldn't really want to meet because I'd probably be a shadow of what they imagined.
Ben is a Type 2, I guess. So are you, incidentally.
Angry? Not me! In a way, I feel flattered if I seem angry, 'cos it's all synthetic and it suggests I can be convincing. I try conjure the range of emotions to see what comes out. Made-up anger comes out very samey now. It's easy, but too well-trodden.
Some emotions refuse to stick, interestingly. The very act of writing snaps me out of them. Self-pity is a case in point. A useful palliative.
Misery is the toughy. Almost impossible to make-up (I get a watered-down, simpering sentimentality instead). When it's truly there, I've a nasty feeling that that's when I fly. If I ever convinced myself that I could only write my best when miserable, I guess that would be the time to pack it in.
And happy? Like I am now, you mean? Perhaps that's why recent stuff strikes me as inconsequential and lightweight. Something else not to dwell on, I suspect.
Waddya mean, doing the day job? You've Posted dozens since the one above! You're as bad as the rest of us, you sad addict you!

'Scuse me I can so multi task you know! It's a female thing! Three divine hand tied bouquets in water, one in a terracotta pot, four contracts vases, three funerals taken...very good at the shoulder to cry on bit and, OK one or two posts. Ditto on the people to meet and ditto on the misery. Ben on the other hand is exceptionally good at emotions. Her recent poetry is just tingly. Wish I could do poetry but I get all self indulgent and ponsy. Don't think I can even do humour poetry...the rules frighten me...however after I have completed my course...yes the teaching English one, my grammar will be quite superb and then just watch out!
Cool about the anger but you do it really well and lighweight is such fun...don't knock it.
Holiday will be right. Ravager pup is joining me on second week and we are tripping the light fandango down an old and very happy memory lane. There are still things to do.
Baby boots is off to basque land with dirty dirty sniffy sniffy...she needs time off the babysitting detail and her dissertation has
something to do with basque land...so she says...methinks Pamplona and Hemingway and sunshine and surfing may have a good deal to do
with it!
Take care

Hi Pin
Good to be back and had a really good time on lots of levels. Feel I can start to walk again.
Loads to do on the day job front so no chance to post this week and possibly not even next but who knows. Any news on the you know what front?
Had a really good letter back from another contact at the beeb who was kind enough to read some drivel..and who was far too complimentary for my own good. Seems to think I have a flair for dialogue...back to the radio plays perhaps!!!
Also, friend on local rag who let offsprung do work experience with him has offered the same opportunity to antique Mum...how cool is that! Will hopefully take up the offer after I have done the teafl course sometime in the new year. Not sure that reporting is my bag but willing to give it a go. Friend says it will be good discipline and at the very least will improve my punctuation...cheers mate!
Must go and do boring accounting paperwork...God I hate that bit and then may even play with a flower or two. Take care friend and good to hear from you.

right and no shit! Have just discovered that financially my remaining offsprung is tantamount to genius: in debt, young, talented, probably first (or at the very least two one), and adorable best friend, is in a more practically positive future choice scenario than the old bid...would be sort of scary if I wasn't so young and so couldnt be arsed

Sorry about previous post. Just when you think you are winning the world conspires against you. Not a good night. Company is to be sold and I shall have to get a new day job or take up residence with the mice in the local church! Bit of a bugger! Things are meant to be though so will try and be positive.
Take care

Yep. Things are meant to be.
Boots, you must have been one of those set aside to lead an interesting life.
You be OK, now. You know you can get through worse than this.

At this moment in time I'd settle for nice safe boring life and loads of literary talent! It's no fun starting again when you're 75!
Any more news on this blackout over the pond?
One of the downsides of abstinence is inability to sleep, lack of concentration to read and although blessed with a surfeit of new material to play with no creative springboard to jump off.
Just been lurking a lot...only short attention span required.

You know, you completely lose me sometimes.
What blackout over the pond?
75?
...Oh...and from about three weeks ago - you were saying about Jimmy Page?

Boots Posted Aug 14, 2003
Check out Lils Atelier, or hit the bbc news button. Half of the US is blacked out. They say it isn't terrorism...they would.
Been 75 for quite a few years now. Decided it was far more sensible than lying on the downward scale and people always say I look remarkably young for my age...might have to push it up to eighty soon!
Yes Ravager did play with Pagey in the 60's. According to Ravager Pagey would hit the 2 eyes when Albert (Lee) was playing and nick all his riffs. Yes it has ben an interesting gig this life I shouldn't complain too much.

You do Lil's too?
I wonder sometimes if I should go back. I admired them for a while, but they took the piss out of my Dad
Serves 'em right, pond-other-siders. 'Cept Jodan, of course. Power's always down in Ohio, though, at least the parts I know.
75 is cool. That settles it. I'm going to talk me up too, and claim to be 14 from now on.
Page is in my pantheon. I remember my uncle enthusing about Plant's band playing at the Open Hearth, Scunthorpe in 1968, as he played me Zeppelin's first album in the month of its release. I was all of 12. For me, Zeppelin have always been on a different plane to the rest.
...Anyhow, what's wrong with a little plagiarism?
(Oh, your agent, BTW. More collage. Not unexpected)

Bastards! Never mind our collages are bound to be short listed for the Turner prize.
That's not nice taking the proverbial, hmmm might have to boycott the salon for a while, but it is fun hey!
Jordan is fine the force is still with him and you mustn't be cruel about the children over the pond...they are children remember, it's not nice to tease.
Ah 1968 I remember it well. Did the first led zep album really come out then? I suppose it must have done. Ravager was asked to be the singer (66/67 I think) but he thought Pagey was full of hot air and didn't think the band would go anywhere...Robert Plant got the gig! That was all before our time but I did laugh about it later. We met late 68 and I never even knew he was a rock 'n roller, he'd given it up by then..he was just beautiful and... hey ho!

*awestruck*
Ravager could have fronted Zep-to-be?
Wow.
(I do like the Murragans, really. Don't worry!)
Bed sounds good. G'night, Boots!

Great father, great son. You must both be very proud of each other. He sounds very like Ravager, look after him.
Your resonances into my life are most welcome. It is a sad, banal little life which embraces invasion from them wot has more to say and says it better!

boots...Who won't have a day job for much longer so really should either concentrate on it or at the very least start looking for a new one!...Selling the business, have to for many reasons. Offsprung will not allow me to say I am going to be 'as poor as a church mouse' (a granny expression apparantly) so for now adeiu from the favella urchin.

Pinniped Posted Aug 16, 2003
Let's continue to enrich each other, Boots.
(Fr'example - favella urchin, what's she mean?
A guess from my world : Favellas are the slums of South American cities, so a favella urchin would be the sad-looking kid you glimpse as you drive in and out of a black and horrible Brazilian steelplant. Probably not what you mean at all, though...
So - is Favella a flower?
Or something piquant that you fine-living Southerners enjoy with your Frascati, maybe?
Who knows? P'rhaps I will, soon)
Whenever you're ready, Boots!
You take care too - it always seems that your characteristic advice would be best kept for yoursel

Precisely what I meant! Not that I could get away with the youth slant but it sounds more flattering than favella ancient!
Pin I so have to give up this day job soon I have just told a customer to 'shove her flowers up her arse'...I should sack myself.
B****cks!
