courage.
We are here to stay.
Our birth was on a fertile land,
the reason of our being still unknown,
thousands of years we sweat and toil and milliard times our lives were taken.
We will not yeild nor bow or break,
for we are mankind and shall not move.
Are we alone, a question unanswered but hear our voice, we speak as one.
We came on land and water fair,
where we bear the pain of suffering together.
Many questions, no answers due, for nature we can not tame.
Our breath doth feed the cycle, that life has given this world.
For we are mankind and shall not move,
for we are mankind and shall not move

By whatever means we came here
It may be time we left
For mankind must take the blame here
For Earth's beauty now bereft.
Phallic buildings thrust obscenely
Into foul polluted air
Human beings acting meanly
Spread their rubbish everywhere.
Toxic sewers spill their sickness
To the oceans of the world
Earth's exploiters show their quickness
Business banners are unfurled.
For it's money drives the big men
Who with wisdom know what's best
And with cunning and acumen
Keep on fouling their own nest!

Sorry, no poem, nut EVERY recent poem (except mine of course) has been absolutely OUTSTANDING and should be published elsewhere as well as here - Prof's idea of Front Page is a good way to start. Congratulations to all of you. It should remind you that people who can write poetry can write poetry from the heart. It takes a little more work (or a lot) but it's worth it.

Next ibe ius still bitterness.

Life can be bitter.
Life can be sweet.
Whatever it is,
It's not always neat.
We give our love.
We give our selves.
We try to care,
yet still delves.
Please do not rummage
within my life.
I promise, I love you.
Remember, I am your wife.
You make me pay.
You make me weep,
for the deceipt of others.
You won't let me sleep.
Now you are gone.
Nothing more can be said.
Yes, I loved you, once.
Now? You are gone. You are dead.
I have a new man.
One I love with all my heart.
You cannot plague me,
You were gone from the start.

That was wonderful, Lil,
Sorry to everyone for the plentiful typos in 384. Anyway, Lil has amply made my point - better - with work that good and that real.
Jab
ps A poem doesn't have to be about real events to be real. [And I include comic poetry - the best comedians are the more accurate observers, like the best poets].

Happiness conjures up magic
in a world where countless souls feel it's warmth
positive vibrations resound around the globe
bringing laughter where there was grief
producing smiles where only sadness grew
a life enters it cries first then smiles
instinct handed down through the millennia
a gift the ability to smile
this world is passing a painful phase
deaths by man and nature like
above the strife you can plainly see
Happiness will forever be!

Rain! at last! It hits the roof slates
Drumming on the windows, sills and gates
Washes clean the paths and the garden seat
Running down gutters in the urban street
Raindrops chasing down the pane of glass
merge, run faster and descend en masse
Seep into the soil to water the weeds
Giving new life to dormant seeds.

I struggle with the words infernal
To justify the thoughts internal,
How to make them cogent, biting,
Make such drab thoughts seem more exciting.
How I'd love to move my friends
To noble aims, to greater ends.
But strong desire does not translate
To powerful prose, to words with weight.
Alas my key wont fit the locks
To get me past these writers blocks.
KL, always mine.
Tunnels.

There is a tunnel
through time and space
that connects my heart to you,
it's twists and turns forming many knots
on it's passage between the two.
The road is short it may be long
but unbroken the link will remain,
for whatever life throws at you
I shall forever be at your side
helping you to absorb the pain.
True friendships are the ones that last
showing all that this tunnel shall never collapse.
mine,just now.

as ever ,Prof:
A new born child
All I'd planned for and all our hopes
disregarded,for now we wait
to see if you'll live the next few days,
It's all in the hand of Fate
All I can see are the tubes and wires
that keep you alive this night,
A hand no bigger than my thumbnail
grasps my finger and squeezes tight.
Two pounds ten of skin and bone!
For the next three months you grew,
till that wonderful day at Easter,
when we finally took you home.
(mine, just now)
(and it still feels like it was yesteday
