Mmmm the insurance thing is a bit difficult for us to understand, we really don't know how lucky we are with our free national health service, financial considerations never enter into any health issues.
Cos you've always worked though you might even find that you miss it . I know that sounds improbable now, but you never know.
Oh, i've started knitting booties by the way.
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted Mar 22, 2004
booties!! I'm glad you can knit 'cause I sure can't.
Don't worry about the insurance thing - we don't understand it either. It's all carp. If you're preggers when you're between insurance coverages, it's pre-existing & nothing will be covered. Everything is out-of-pocket.
Even *with* insurance you still have to pay percentages of everything based on the type of coverage you have. And if you have an uncomplicated birth, you only get a day or two in hospital. Rest of the recovery has to be at home. That's when you hope you can get along with your mother or mother-in-law. *thinks about moving to Britain to get some of that socialized medicine*
I probably would miss working. I think I could find causes to volunteer for to fill my time though. Do office work for free, that sort of thing. Keep my hand in, get out of the house and feel like I was making a difference instead of aiding a massive corporation.

Yeah, being a mum can give you the chance to do more satisfying stuff, get involved in the community,be more social. It's amazing how you get treated differently as a parent too, people just stop and talk to you when you've got a baby with you..
Mind you, after a few hours trapped in a house with a beligerant baby i was willing to talk to anything that would stand still long enough.
I bet you've already thought how you can get junior onto the stage, just so he or she can say in years to come; "Well of course i got my first acting job when i was 3 months old"
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted Mar 22, 2004
I've told some people and it's amazing how they like to rub my stomach even though I'm not showing yet - people I don't really even know all that well.
I have no doubt that during the 12 weeks I'll be off, I want to come back to work just to keep from tearing my hair out with a ing baby.
If the baby is a content one who likes to sleep, I've thought about working backstage still or calling shows. Otherwise, introduction to theatre will probably have to wait.

That is about the tummy rubbing, they do that here too. What really struck me as funny was that the requests were to rub MY tummy
Still i can't complain, it didn't take me long to get my figure back . Still got the craving for dill pickles though, especially in a sesame bun with a
What do the rest of the family make of the news?
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted Mar 23, 2004
Your tummy?
Family is happy about it. First grandchild on his side of the family. Second (by about 7 months) on my side.
My cravings have been for fried foods - including fried dill pickle slices. Mmm...
Good evening
airscotia-back by popular demand Posted Mar 23, 2004
The little thing will be spoiled no end by the grandparents then, that's a good thing, i can heartily reccomend it.I was the first grandson, and i had a great childhood with my grandparents.
I've been on a diet just recently, so fried food is the forbidden fruit here at the moment.English slang name for dill pickle.........Wallies, and i haven't a clue why.
Must off to bed now Emee, it's been great chatting again, i've missed you.Hopefully i'll be around a bit for the next few days, so i'll catch you then. Take care of yourself and junior.
Oh, before i go...........do you mind?
*RUB RUB*

Hey! Knock it off!
Husband left the keys for the truck that was traded in against the one he sold in his pants pocket at home this morning. So guess who was more than 1/2 way to work & had to go back home & take keys to the south side of the city & be 2 hours late for work? Oh well. I have more flexibility with my schedule than he does with his.
How are the classes, kids & Mrs. Airscotia?

Every thing, and everybody just fine thanks Em, and how's the bump?
Got my exam in 10 weeks time and my nerves are jangling already, it'll be my first for 20 years any tips?
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted Mar 29, 2004
The bump is fine. It gets an ultrasound on April 8 to verify age/size since I got preggers on 'the Pill'. I have my fingers crossed that it's just one in there. Twins run in the family.
Wow! First in 20 years? Try not to stress about it. It isn't that bad. Just remember, they're only trying to get a "well person" baseline so they can tell if something happens in the future.
Good evening

I'm an idiot. I'm guessing you're having an end of year exam for school & not the kind. Just have & on the brain these days.
Anyway. Good luck with it. Try not to over think the multiple choice and jot down a quick outline for any essay questions. When in doubt, use the past, present, future of the item in question for your essay. Or the definition, past, future - used them in impromptu speeches to good effect.

I will take your advice on the exam (you're right it's not a medical one), and i promise not to blame you if i fail..
I hope everything is progressing well with you, hubby, and the bump. Sorry i've not been around to give support and encouragement, but you're still in my thoughts.I was driving along today and suddenly thought of you, and felt very guilty about not chatting more. (Although i expect you've no end of people offering advice at the moment)
I notice that you are at week 13, well done, that's a third of the process completed, it all gets very simple from here on in. Any new cravings emerged yet? I've got a mad urge to eat all the time at the moment, hopefully this is a side effect of my new healthy lifestyle and not a sign that i'm pregnant too
Take care Emee, hope to catch you soon.

Cravings haven't been too bad. Wanted mashed potatoes the other night. Couple of weeks ago had to have crackers with cream cheese and jalepeno jam.
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted May 10, 2004
Had some bratwurst-type sausages with jalapenos in at my brother's house the other night. Very tasty.
How are things?
Good evening
airscotia-back by popular demand Posted May 10, 2004

Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted May 10, 2004
Very well, thanks. Bump is starting to show. Not sure how I feel about the getting huge stage but I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end.
Glad to hear things are well with you. How were your exams? Any courses lined up for the summer?
I'm off to an audition - we're doing a revival of a show we did last year & one of the actresses got a paying gig so we have to replace her.
Good evening
airscotia-back by popular demand Posted May 10, 2004
Ahhh, it's cute when the bump starts appearing........prepare for more unexpected rubbing
Exam is in 4 weeks time, but i've got myself on a training excavation in Somerset for July, so that'll be fun Quite a few lectures on the horizon too.
Life outside the world of Archaeology continues apace, guess who's 40 tomorrow .
I'm glad to see you're still keeping up the theatre work, it'll stop you playing with the bump too much Did you ever tell me what Emee was short for, or can i guess?
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted May 11, 2004
The excavation should be a lot of fun.
As for birthdays, I understand - just hit 30 last week. Happy birthday. Have some and . Also, here's a - it's a trowel.
Don't know if I can give up the theatre work - it's very addictive. Safer than some addictions I can think of though.
Feel free to guess. I don't think I've told you what it's short for. I'll let you know when you get close.
Good evening

about missing your birthday Emee, i hope you had a lovely time, last year i managed to make you a cake too . 30 is that all? Well you don't know how lucky you are...........it's when you hit 40 that bits start dropping off or not functioning any more
Thanks very much for the trowel, i'll treasure it and i'll think of you every time i unearth something interesting with it
And as you've never even hinted at your real name this should be a challenge, i love guessing games
Emily would be too obvious i guess?
