Tough one that Mycelium
If i'd Thai'd one on - it would be Lemon and ginger tea - if it was a rare occasion that I had been temperate - well then it would be freshly ground coffee.....
Now then - as the daughter said to the mother - Cardif or Durham?
This or That ?
Mycelium Posted Jan 5, 2003
I'd have to say Cardiff, but then again I'm biased.
Herb or Alcohol?
This or That ?
Seannachie Posted Jan 6, 2003
Ummh ... hard one that, esp. when still half p****d in the early hours one's natal day ... not to mention the aftershock from 'M's ...
OK call me old fashioned - I am, after all 59 in another 16 hours and 5 minutes ...
Reggae.
Joe Brown or Tommy Steele?

theupkrisphile Posted Jan 6, 2003

age in years is obviously no indicator of youthful joie de vivre in your case

patrick mcgoohan or ian hendry
This or That ?
Seannachie Posted Jan 6, 2003
Why thank you, Kris. Our vie is still full of joie up here in the frozen north & 'M' whose fifty-xth birthday was yesterday, is still spritely. And thanx for the song.
We're Patrick McGoohan fans for ... various reasons.
Deer or Yak?

akira100 Posted Jan 6, 2003
I'm all of a quandry now because I don't like twiglets or wotsits. I just popped in to say happy birthdays to the picts.

Beansidhe Posted Jan 6, 2003
Oh, thank you, Peter. Thank you, too Chels - come in, the both of you, sit down. Have a drink, my dears.
Peter you'll be glad to know there are neither twiglets nor wotsits here.
What are those? Those are ear-defenders - the kids were playing Heavy Metal a while ago.
Wotsits - the other one is too ... real sounding...
Venison or Beef?
'M'

Scarlet Woman, (new and improved)! Posted Jan 6, 2003
Beef - I just can't forget poor Bambi's Mum.
My youngest has gone back to school today and my eldest is off to Florence for 4 months - I shall be bereft....
Leonardo or Michaelangelo?
This or That ?
akira100 Posted Jan 7, 2003
Very hard, young Scarlet, very difficult indeed.
I'll have to go with Mike Angelo. Visiting the Sistine Chapel was the highlight of my Italian holiday. I also visited his tomb in Florence, which is in a very famous church, the name of which escapes me at the moment
Barbara Hepworth or Henry Moore?
This or That ?
Mycelium Posted Jan 18, 2003
sorry. Who?
'ffraid i don't know who either of these is, so i tossed a coin.
Henry.
umm...
not-knowing or having-forgotten?
This or That ?
Scarlet Woman, (new and improved)! Posted Jan 28, 2003
Mycelium - sorry - have not been checking this thread - they were both exceptional sculptors - Hepworth is my fave - very inspired by the Cornish landscape. But Henry Moore is wonderful too - if you saw their stuff I am sure you would recognise it.
My daughter has now been offered a place at Cardiff to read Ancient History - she is Italy at the moment so I have not heard yet if she has made her final decision as to where to go.
You didn't posit a 'this or that' - or has it run it's course?
This or That ?
Mycelium Posted Jan 29, 2003
I did post one, but I'll rephrase it. Not-knowing or not-remembering?
Ancient History, eh? I can't say I'd have chosen a course like that. After all, there's no future in history.

Nice one, MyC
I'd have to go for not knowing. The 'morning after' scenario usually results in not remembering, but time sorts that one out.
Rain or snow? (We're talking precipitation here)
This or That ?
Mycelium Posted Feb 6, 2003
oh, THAT snow. ahh, well that makes it a tough choice. I'd normally say snow, but wheelchairs and snow don't really mix well. On the other hand, rain's just plain miserable. Having said that, snow is a sign of very cold weather, so RAIN it is. Going once, twice, sold to the summer lovin' son-of-a- at the back!
umm....
Paul Simon or Art Garfunkel?
[inspired by the album i'm listening to right now]
This or That ?
Seannachie Posted Feb 9, 2003
Believe me, MyC, very little goes well with snow and as nice as it was to have it for a while, we are collectively glad ours is gone.
You do pick hard ones - 'M', who always reinforces success, likes Paul Simon, so do I. However, we liked the duo better than its individuals - it's probably an ageist thing
Actually, we're listening to Fats Domino right now & 'M' has roused herself to ask the inevitable 'Rock' question, at least for our generation -
Beatles or Stones?
Nos da!
This or That ?
Scarlet Woman, (new and improved)! Posted Feb 9, 2003
Mycelium - forgive the Scarlet nonsense for being such a fool as to not see your either or - so good of you not to ask me whether I was blind or wot?!
Stones, by the merest smidgen.
Tom Waits or JJ Cale
Hello OOV
This or That ?
Beansidhe Posted Feb 9, 2003
Hi Sarah!
It's a lovely sunny day up here in Pictland.
I'm sitting here watching OOV & Cabal watching the deer moving through the field at the bottom of the garden. They're really funny. Every now and then one grey shaggy head turns to look at the other, then they look back at the deer. Occasionally one of them looks back at me as if to say, I wonder what she'd think if we went & whacked one of those deer. They both know that the fridge is full of nice venison, though & we don't hunt this close to home.
Mmh, I think JJ Cale. So does OOV.
Cabal on the other hand, well he's really not into music. He just puts up with whatever we're listening to, though he knows how to turn off the amp on the hi-fi.
So, dogs or cats?
BTW my pair are out of the doghouse.
