Anyone would think it was a Monday!

So it’s the usual story, I’m wide awake and raring to go, I look at the clock and decide that 5:30 is really far to early for any sane person to be thinking of moving. I eventually role over go back to sleep and begin dreaming deeply, only to be woken by the alarm clock about five mins later. smiley - grr

It’s brilliantly sunny outside, smiley - wow me thinks, Fred can have a proper run this morning before I head off. As I’m drinking my smiley - tea the clouds role up the channel and it begins to bucket down. April showers my foot, it was dry in April!smiley - steam Consequently I get completely drenched whilst sorting Fred out.

I’m now running late and then I notice that one of my back tyres looks suspiciously flat. I pump it back up, by now completely saturated. Back inside to change, back out to the car. Should there really be that gentle hissing noise coming from the rear? smiley - erm Probably not if I’m honest, check the pressure again. It’s not gone down so I decided to risk driving. I stop on the journey in, still not lost much pressure, pump the tyre up again and I continue at a slightly more sedate pace than normal.

So I’m in for a frustrating lunch break, having never changed a wheel before I’m not looking forward to the experience, and it’s still bucketing it down.smiley - sadface Perhaps now is the time to go a-hunting for a friendly caretaker. I may be classed as an ‘independent young cuss’ but there must be times when a girl can plead small hands and large tight nuts as presenting a bit of a problem. smiley - winkeye

Role on Thursday eveing………smiley - biggrin

A new language!

Apparently our printer server has had a ‘head crash’. smiley - yikes Now I find this a little confusing. I’ve been keeping an eye on the thing all week, (it sits next to me, I don’t spend all day watching the hard drives smiley - tongueout) and it hasn’t moved at all, not even to do a little shuffle.

So unless it sprouts legs during the night and spends its time toddling about the desk, our technician has obviously flipped. smiley - biggrin He’s been here too long!

A new house guest

Its ok, I haven't secretly concealed Master B under the patio. smiley - winkeyeStrictly speaking he's more of a garden guest, but he’s still only visiting!

Tuesday night is practice night at Newport cathedral. After working up a thirst in the tower we all head off to the pub for smiley - ale. It’s usually a very entertaining evening, but the excitement is generally confined to our corner of the pub. Last night however a stray was spotted wondering around the pub garden harassing the locals. A hardy couple and their son were still outside drinking at 10:00ish when they were joined by an unexpected visitor. On sighting their new companion, the female jumped up onto the table and stood their trembling while her other half tried to kick the creature across the garden.

Inside in the warm we witnessed all this, as a slightly bemused but determined animal trundled back across the grass in pursuit of human company. Again he was re-buffed and kicked away.

Action was needed and a couple of us ventured outside armed with a box to rescue this animal, who by now was trying to find a way into the pub through the glass doors of the patio. Eventually he stopped trying to give us the slip and quietly trundled into the crisp box that I put down.

Five minuets later the albino ferret happily curled up in the arms of various rescuers as we tried to work out what to do with him. The landlord suggested housing him in a box, not at all suitable for a ferret, so having an empty hutch in the back garden I’ve offered to house ‘Fred’ (of even Freda?) for a few days.

I’m now hoping someone is looking for him; he’s a very friendly chap someone will be missing him. Details have been left at the pub in question and I phoned the RSPCA this morning.

In the meantime he definitely needs a proper name……..

I've missed it!!!

smiley - yikes My first h2g2 birthday and I missed it. smiley - wah

On the 16th April I'd officially been on-line for a whole year. smiley - bubbly

So what have I been doing here? Well I don't seem to have accomplished a lot in some ways. No guide entries, no subbing etc.

On the other hand I feel I've made some good friends, become involved in some interesting debates and I have learnt a lot from other people here.

smiley - cheers to hootoo.

Yet again!!!!

“ I don’t believe it!!!!”

The last day of term and the heating has broken yet again. smiley - steam Or rather that should be smiley - brr.

It’s very busy in here atm, students panicking trying to finish assignments and tutors looking for cowering individuals who are smiley - erm a little behind.

Everyone who walks in through the door stops to comment “Oh, it’s cold in here, has the heating broken down again?” smiley - erm No actually, I like sitting in a freezer gradually loosing the feeling in my fingers. smiley - laugh

Who cares? Not I! I’ve got just over a week off and I’m off traveling tonight. smiley - biggrin.
