Odo on wheels
Posted Mar 8, 2003
What a day! I've been out on the front of a motor bike agian. Now I'm happily reved up and plotting ways to go for my full licence without having to take time off work. This one could be tricky.
So, I've spent the day zooming around the roads of Monmouthsire in the rain and wind. Inspite of the weather it's been a great day (you may have gathered that by now )and now I'm off to thaw out in a nice hot bath. I'm sure I have some feet somewhere, can't feel them at the moment though.

Fire!!
Posted Mar 5, 2003
I think we've managed to upset a student a few times too often. A pile of rubbish left out for the caretaker to collect was found merrily blazing away outside the library's front door.
Luckily it was only the boxes that were actually alight, so a well aimed foot pushed them out of the walkway and into the rain before several bowls of water were used.
All's safe now.

The brave family hound
Posted Mar 4, 2003
The family has shown his true colours yet again. He’s a larger than is usual for the breed, Welsh springer spaniel and is completely soppy. As long as you’re not a black toy poodle he’s the friendliest creature you could meet.
He likes to think he’s brave but he has yet to convince us. One of his favorite pass times when out walking is chasing the local wildlife. Squirrels had him confused for a long time because they just disappeared when he though he had them cornered against a handy tree.
Whilst out the other day he saw a fox slinking across the field at the edge of the wood. Off he shot in hot pursuit. From the reports of the incident I’m guessing that it was an old fox because instead of running it crouched down, made itself look as large as possible and stayed still snarling and ready to attack.
Morgan got to within six feet and stopped. What was he supposed to do now? He circled round keeping a reasonable distance between himself and the creature so that he had a head start if he needed to run. Nothing happened, so he stopped a bit longer and had a go at staring the creature out. Still no response except a lot of swearing and cursing from the fox.
He then decided there was no point staying to play with such an uncooperative chap, and back he trotted to the parents looking slightly sheepish, with tail going as if to say “See, I told him to stay away and he listened, aren’t I wonderful.” Soppy idiot!

End of the day, I wish!
Posted Feb 11, 2003
That's it, I'm exhausted. I've just been off and am back in work today because I couldn't stand being in the house on my own any more.
I'm in here on my own again I've just had a bit of a run in with one of the students (lovely chap). I want some and my bed, but it's the graveyard shift tonight so I'm here for a while yet.
Thank goodness for hootoo.

Mondays
Posted Jan 20, 2003
Hoorah, so it's Monday again.
Yet again we have no heating in work. This is becoming a regular occurrence. This time it looks like it may be a week long stoppage because oil levels in the boiler house became too low and the boiler is yet again bunged up with gunk.
So it's out with the woolliest jumpers I can find. It's mildish at the moment, but the weather is set to change towards the end of the week; while this building is an old dairy and designed to hold the cold.
Will it eventually lead to me working in my leathers? I hope not!
