AT LAST (whew huge sigh of relief)
I have had nightmares thinking that I had lost you all forever.
I am now officially billed as researcher 238400.
HONESTLY!!
So if you go to that thread you will see my sadness and chagrin. and might I add total loss of identity. It is ghastly. I really felt that I had ceased to exisdt.
anyway, it is thanks to Zarquhon that I inadvertently came back on. I found something of hers through the Christian Theology article and followed her thread and then found my old number!!.
I have decided to call myself Also Ran 2 - it is actually my third attempt as I lost myself about a week after I had joined.
Anyway, I am jolly tired - iot has been rather warm lately - so must go off to my pit(bed)
Fond to all my dear friends. I shall hopefully sleep peacefully tonight in the knowledge that you are all just a screen away.
REsearcher 238400 also known as "younger" (I think) and Also Ran 2
formerly (but still) the same old bag Also Ran1 what else??
Now this is fascinating. I am told, when I try to post the message that this page cannot be displayed.
WHAT IS GOING ON???

I don't know what your computer situation is, AR1 (AR2? Whatever!) but I have my computer set to sign me in automatically whenever I sign on - it remembers my U number, password, the whole bit.
If you can't do that on your computer for some reason, by all means write the information down somewhere handy - I find that writing something important on paper makes it easier to remember. Often just by the act of writing it down, it is committed to memory.
Whatever happens, Don't Panic! You can always sign in with another new account if you need to!

I wonder How?
I have tried but everything is rejected. I get a sneaking suspicion that they do not want oldies like me on this website.
With
AR1 or 2, perhaps. I am not going to go on trying much longer.

When you sign in, there should be a box to check that says something like "always remember me on this computer". You have to have your computer set to accept cookies in order for this to work, though - I'm sure someone who is a lot more of a than I am can tell you how to make sure it's set to accept cookies.

Can somebody explain to her how to set her computer to accept cookies so she doesn't have this problem again?

...Although if everything is already set up properly, it may just be the servers having a bad case of indigestion again... they've been doing that a lot lately.

Since I have an imac...I don't think my "help" has done much to
aid AR1....if someone can E-mail me how to get her to set her cookies...I'll E-it to her....I told her how *I* keep cookies on....but I know her computer isn't like mac.

My so dear friends, thank you for all your help. I've sent you an email Pandora dear. Lady Scott I have cookies, but I HAD to have them right at the beginning. I have absolutely NO idea how to change them/ I am hoping that maybe when Zarquhon comes back from her camping holiday she might be able to come out and help me.
Otherwise I shall try now to have another go. I seem to remember that pheloxi (our Dutch friend) at some stage gave me my U number. I must try and get that mail back.
Wish me luck. I feel totally bereft without you all.
Hold thumbs for me tomorrow. I have to see my cardiologist in London.

So glad you've found away back AR1!
There is a link on the login page where you can request having your password emailed to you, if that is any help.

Hope you get back to being you soon Ar1! You should be able to get your U number by going to you old page. Hang on, I'll use the power of broadband...
U186829 is your AR1 number.
If you can remember the e-mail you signed in with then, you should (as someone else said) be able to get a new password through e-mail.
This is probably repeating what everyone else has said, but I want you back and comfy soon AR!..

My so dear friends,
thank you again. I have tried that U186829 already with my only email number I have had. It still did not work. However, Pandora has given mw the number of the support team, and I shal enlist their help again this evening if I do not get through.
Incidentally my cardiologist has taken me off my heart tabletws for three months to see if my hands improve. As he was the guy who diagnosed the aneurysm in my left coronary artery BEFORE he had given me the angiogram I have compoete faith in him!. He seemed slightly bemused that at least four dermatologists had diagnosed everything from psoriasis to dermatitis and had never questioned the fact that I could be allergic to my heart tablets.
So hopefully I shall not manifest any of my unpleasant heart symptoms(which I had completely forgotten about so effective were the tablets!!) and my hands shall clear up and Bob's your uncle I might even get back onto h2g2.
you all lots and lots and thank you for urging me on. sometimes it gets a trifle wearying!!.

I'm sure the support team can get you back on your old U# soon.
I wish I had some idea how to set the cookies and could tell you how to do it... sometimes things get all goofed up when the computer crashes or something like that.
