Arbitrary entry

Everybody is now on their Summer hols, so it's a bit like Christmas - all the regular clubs, committees and so on have stopped for a break and families are forced to make their own entertainment together at home. At least my two sons get on well together & we have great conversations sometimes. I'm still going to work, so getting some human contact outside the home smiley - ok!
Went to give blood today - younger son elected to tag along as the expedition also involved popping into the supermarket. Judging by his sullen expression, you'd think he'd been coerced into it. That's teenagers for you smiley - zen.
Back to the blood-letting. For the second time, the sample from my pricked finger (sticky plaster no.1) failed to sink in the required time smiley - doh. So a larger sample was taken (sticky plaster no.2)to do an iron count. Passed by one point, so off to do the full works (sticky plaster no.3). Treated myself to eating 3 choccy biscuits afterwards smiley - cheerup.

Surprises

One could say that life is a whole series of surprises, not being able to predict the future smiley - huh.
Generally, I don't like surprises. I do like unexpected happenings such as younger son getting a school prize this year smiley - biggrin. The sort of event I dislike is a surprise party smiley - yuk, I admit I'm something of a control freak and I like to know what's happening.
I was not surprised when hubby announced yesterday that he'd be off shopping today to get me a birthday smiley - gift (for tomorrow). He won't have used the opportunity when I was out gardening to wrap it up - there'll be non too surreptitious rustling while I'm in the next room later tonight smiley - silly.
Ah well, at least he does always remember the date! smiley - zen

Now we are four

Summer starts here smiley - cool.
Elder son is now on holiday until October! Our alcohol consumption has suddenly increased considerably - what a bad influence these young people are smiley - silly.
The house is full of music, unpacked boxes and dirty washing and we are a family of four again smiley - biggrin.

Va va voom

No, I don't need to buy a Renault. Life is jogging along with its usual share of ups & downs, but I seem to have mislaid my va va voom lately smiley - erm. Even retail therapy hasn't helped. Perhaps that's because I can't find a pair of trousers that fit properly. Am I really that unusual a shape smiley - doh?
The sun is shining quite a lot smiley - smiley; getting through all my list of jobs without feeling too inundated; my Mum didn't need any skin grafts (but is frustrated now the rate of healing has slowed down); managing to fit in a bit of 'me' time.
Perhaps as I'm getting older, the endorphins are slacking off and I need more of a buzz to get them going. Maybe I ought to take up a dangerous sport smiley - boing?
On second thoughts, maybe I just need someone to organise a holiday for me ...... smiley - cool!
