Worry lines

Too much going on at the moment - even if some of it is fun. Apart from all the usual, rehearsing a panto AND a play for performances the next 3 weekends. Add a few family worries as well and, oh dear, the furrowed brow.

Memo tp self - smile more.

Every cloud has a silver lining

2004 has been a bit turbulent so far here in h2g2. First there was the upset about Liam & now the digi-box affair. I have been very sad smiley - sadfaceto see not only the recent collection of what I consider to be mostly childishly abusive posts about the latter business, but also the attempts to stir up the community in their cause.

Those who have been so puerile (fortunately relatively few in number) have only shown themselves in a poor light smiley - footinmouth. In contrast, others have been able to demonstrate how wise and constructive smiley - wow they are, whichever 'side', if either, they support. Despite being so public, I believe this has been a mere drop in the ocean that is the h2g2 community & will soon fade into history - many researchers are probably still unaware of or uninterested about it happening.

One positive outcome seems to be an embryonic movement to organise distribution of unwanted PCs to those unable to afford them, especially people with disabilities.

H2g2 is a vast community and as such is bound to have internal ructions smiley - cross from time to time. All part of life's rich pageant. Long live h2g2!

Milk bottles

We're accumulating a bit of a backlog in the fridge. As I was storing today's delivery, I was struck that rearranging the old bottles to make way for the new, without taking them out of the fridge, is rather like one of those magic square puzzles with one blank to shuffle around. smiley - erm

Spring cleaning

I find that Spring doesn't inspire me - it's this time of year I get the urge to sort, rearrange & clean. The leaves have fallen, the sun is low in the sky & shines into all those corners full of junk smiley - groan. Not only that, but instead of entertaining outdoors, festivities will be anchored inside - I have to clear a few surfaces to eat off & make room to put up the folding bed smiley - yikes.
So this weekend I've overhauled our 'media storage', having purchased some shelving units. What with vacuuming up the dead woodlice from behind the old units, discarding those tapes dusty from lack of use and creating some space ready for some anticipated Christmas smiley - giftsmiley - gift, it's been a satisfying job smiley - ok.
Now there's just the rest of the house to tackle!
