Feeling stretched rather thin at the moment.
Too many commitments - fun ones as well as 'duty' ones 
.
Too much stress - coping with the family 
.
Too little sleep - mornings getting darker 
.
This week my Mum goes in for a knee replacement, so that's an extra worry 
.
Just hope my elastic doesn't snap 
Shouldn't really be here just now, but I need to escape occasionally 
.

It's raining at last

What a day! Started with sun & blustery wind - great for drying the washing. Then a black cloud came over and I had to dash out and bring in the washing, followed by strong gusty winds that nearly tugged the creeper off the chimney. Now we've had almost two hours of steady rain, hurrah! Just what I need for the garden.

Too early

Up at 6.00am today - Saturday - to take younger son to train station for departure on school field trip. Now I'm . I think we should have swopped places - he'd rather have stayed at home, I'd quite like to mess around in peat bogs in Yorkshire!

Domestic Goddess?

This weekend our local Village Show takes place, so over the past two days I have been preparing my entries in the home produce section - fruit crumble, cheese straws, coffee 
, bread.
Some years have been a manic rush, with term starting, oven going from dawn till dusk, but this time I have just selected a few categories I can handle in the time available.
Afterwards - back to my usual intermittent style of just doing a bit of baking now and again
