Everybody is now on their Summer hols, so it's a bit like Christmas - all the regular clubs, committees and so on have stopped for a break and families are forced to make their own entertainment together at home. At least my two sons get on well together & we have great conversations sometimes. I'm still going to work, so getting some human contact outside the home !
Went to give blood today - younger son elected to tag along as the expedition also involved popping into the supermarket. Judging by his sullen expression, you'd think he'd been coerced into it. That's teenagers for you .
Back to the blood-letting. For the second time, the sample from my pricked finger (sticky plaster no.1) failed to sink in the required time . So a larger sample was taken (sticky plaster no.2)to do an iron count. Passed by one point, so off to do the full works (sticky plaster no.3). Treated myself to eating 3 choccy biscuits afterwards .

Last time I went to give blood there was a hold up for some reason, and quite a queue developed.
Anyway this guy steps forward to have his prick taken, gun goes click guy drops like he'd been shot. I laugh and then here loud crashes behind me. Turn round and another bloke and 2 women are lying on the floor.
Took ages to sort it all out.

Once there was someone who'd obviously brought a friend along as a new donor & afterwards it was the old hand who felt faint & had to lie down!
