I just wanted to drop you a note to say... You have a great site, I'm afraid I have a boring question for you though! I've been struggling to work out how to get my own pics on my page but with no success. I see you have some colourful pics, so it would be really helpful of you could let me know what to do. I'm fed up with searching h2g2 for the info I want. I'll try to leave a more interesting message next time, thanks. Icabod

Hey don't worry, I'm afraid I'll have to let you know about it in more detail later because it's 1 am and I'm tired but i will answer your question tomorrow I promise. Then I'll be awake enough to search for links and find the right code!

Hi Icabod, Click on the Help Page, Then click on the very small "help pages" in blue, at the top of that page
When you arrive at the next page, click onto "Guidemail Clinic"
There you will see a link to the pictures
You can also read up on how to write in Guide Mail, and how to transfer any picture you want to your home page
It may look sarey, but take your time, you will soon learnGood Luck.
Smudger.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say...that I won´t be coming to the Birmingham meet.
Dyslexia seems to exists everywhere, but in languages where spelling and the sounds of words differs alot, english and french for example tends to have a higher amount of dyslexics than, say spanish, where spelling and sounds of words are very close. The spelling is to blame.
Even though I wont turn up in Birmingham, I might pop by here again.
Izz.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say... Hi, but now I really should write more than 5 words! I'm new to all of this and don't have much time at the mo to sit down and spend time on it, but I have a huge interest in medicine, so will be writing in that field at some point.
Hope all is well with you and speak soon

I just wanted to drop you a note to say...that I wrote a really good entry, but I can't get it out of one place and into another, so if you could help me out with that, that would be awesome. It's on my page, the entry entitled "How to do History".
Thanks ever so much, dear!

Z Posted Dec 19, 2003
great entry!! I'm sure that you want to get it out of the WW and into PR.
I'm sorry if this is patronising, cos you've been on h2g2 much longer thanI have.. but these are the steps. I'm sure you've tried them and are having problems.. If you could just tell me at which step you're having problems.
Removing it from WW. You need to go to the main page for the writing workship and find your piece amoungst the list. This might be easier if you double click on the "name of entry" heading on the list, and that then puts it in alphabetical order.
Next to your entry will be either the word remove (if you're using alabaster or Goo) or a cross if you're using Brunel. If you click on this it should remove it from PR.
Now if you go to your entry, and click on submit for review, you should be able to put it into PR.
And.. having just proof read half of A's dissetation on the subject of "Did herdotitus deserve the title of "father of History"", I found this really really interesting. And will definately comment when it gets into PR.

Oh, I thought "remove" meant delete it...not terribly intuitive there, I guess.
I'll try that!
(And no, you aren't being patronizing. I'm a computer luddite, dontcha know)

Hi Z, help with an article?
Z Posted Dec 28, 2003
Hi Pedboy. I'm glad your Tuff, but don't worry I'm not that brutal. - Honestly.
I've got just a few points.
There's a lot of bullent points, I can't help feeling that a bit of large blocks of text wouldn't go amiss, and would make it a little more readable.
Not everyone deals with chronic illness in the same way, some people don't like to talk about it, but I expect most of the people you meet on chronic illness groups online do like to talk about it.
I wonder if it would be worth putting a little about the different ways people have of coping.
Also do you mean all chronic illness? would this apply to someone with cancer for instance
Hi Z, help with an article?
pedboy Posted Dec 28, 2003
Thx Z, I'm off to supper now. I see what you mean, tunnel vision.
I will take action tomorrow.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say... Happy New Year, LOL you are having a funny homepage, or whatever it's called.

Hello,
H2g2 is a very confused site isn't it? partly because of the community that's sprung up around it, people just establise sub site of their own and conversations grow up off of them.
The best way to meet people is to get involved in all the conversations that you can. It depends what you're into, Role Playing? civilised chit chat? Random chat? Intellegent debate? we've got them..
If you let me know what sort of conversations you're after I'll drop by with some links..
another way to find what's going on, and places where people are talking is to lurk on peoples pages, you can see they have a list of conversations that they are involved in.
