well done on getting reccomended by the way, it's a long wait to get on the front page, but you will do!
and in return..

Yah it's such a great feeling of relief to know that people actually like what I write!
But I think there's still a way to go yet!
I'd love to see it on the front page but I'll just be happy to have it edited!

Z Posted Aug 12, 2003
isn't it! I love that about h2g2!
It will get on the front page for a day every edited guide article does.. if it's the editors pick of the day then it gets an illustration as well!

Oooh I can't wait! My moment in the spotlight!!
No seriously the prospect of maybe getting a cute little picture is tempting too!
Liked the Things to do at Birmingham Railway station entry!
If I'm ever up there I'll remember the words of wisdom!
That's another great thing...that there are entries on virtually everything! Brilliant! And easier than Google!
(having withdrawal symptoms from ! marks. punctuation needs more care and attention) ! (couldn't resist)

The entry on new street station got more response in PR than any of my other entries in Peer Review, and that many many others. The british are obbessed with delayed trains.
Nowt wrong with !'s unless your using proper English, I use them far too often in e mails and h2g2 posts

That was definitely the problem. Good diagnosis Flicking between Hotmail and here, bound to cause eye strain!
The fact that I'm off to Essex today in a long hot car journey may have contributed too? I'm sure there must be a medical condition antisitincaritus?

Hi Folks, I have found that tilting the screen slightly seems to stop the glare, and I do not suffer eye strain any more Try it, see if it works for you

Smudger I think holding the PC screen would leave my arms drained of blood after a few minutes which might cause me to literally see double!
But you're right though it does work with laptops!
Good idea

I know! I'm using one, I'm not sure how you'd do it with a PC screen though.

You could always try closing your eyes and typing, it would be quite interesting to see what you have typed afterwards
all around i reckon

Could certainly create some interesting scenarios!
Pity my typings basically OK to use with eyes open to erase mistakes which seem to occur all too frequently but eyes closed is basically the same as never looking at my fingers which doesn't seem to work! Guess I need more practise!
Thanks early in the morning before breakfast a cup of is always welcome. Will offer around s and s!
Low calorie smiley food is great!

Tries to type this with my eyes closed,
Ohh that worked quite well, I'm rather pleased with my slef, though it's a little slower

Smudger879n Posted Aug 14, 2003
Yep! I could see the problem with holding the screen and typing at the same time In fact just thinking of it brings a smile to my face! I could never type with my eyes shut? its bad enough trying to type with two fingers as it is

Hi WB and Everyone Else, Yep! it is really a good feeling to see your posts in print, I remember how chuffed I felt a few weeks ago when my first article went into Its kept me busy ever since and given a reaso to carry on
Smudger.

BN- other people can touch type (just not very well! ) and I simply call it 'creative' when I invent new and ingenious ways to contort my fingers to the unreachable keys! But the whole issue of thouch typing with eyes closed leads to intesting dilemmas!
Smudger- I'm getting really excited at the prospect of having my first lil' entry get through! Now I'm addicted to thinking up new and unusual topics that I'll finally finish and enter in Peer Review! I tend to have so much fun filling the page with GuideML tags and then trying to remember what information I was going to put in them! Obviously I need to hone my technique a tad!
Has anyone noticed that Z actually hasn't posted in a while and we're justing chatting in his message! Funny how that works!
*Accepts BNs and munches yet another !*
