h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

All H2G2 welcomers, friendly people, and others, do not feel obligated to welcome the Banned to H2G2. We are a non-existant non-rock non-band, who won't be playing gigs near you very soon.

Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Arlecchino, and I don't play lead guitar for the Banned. You will soon meet my friends Em (who doesn't play rhythm guitar) and Harlequin (who doesn't play drums). If you'd like to schedual us not to play, please leave a message.

I think we should all take turns not singing, and perhaps we should all not sing in unison? We need someone who won't play bass.

I could ask UH (Uncle Heavy)?

What are we called?

I've asked Amy the Ant for a logo when we get a name....we should make this into a thing like the keepers or summit...or maybe not...lets see how this pans out first

I assumed that we were called "The Banned". It has a nice sort of double meaning, a play off of Dylan's old backing group (The Band), and also giving a hint of being sort of an outlaw element, like we were Banned from H2G2, without actually being either. We didn't vote, Harlequin just came up with it, but I like it.

well the banned thing just came into my head when I set the page up, no great thought went into it. But if you are both happy with it, great.

I think none of us should sing, but we definately want someone who doesn't play Bass, and someone who doesn't play keyboards perhaps.

Once we've got the line-up musically, then we should look for someone who either doesn't or can't sing

A lot of people haven't booked us btw

Oh and perhaps we should think about not having a fan club and not having some publicity shots done

great !! so I presume Em gave you the passwords etc, so sign up and leave your profile on the page

Oh and I forgot, we don't play anything really, we haven't a wide array of musical influnences

Or non-musical non-influences. I think we should all not sing, because then we won't be like the Beatles, who are one of our strongest non-influences, or at least one of mine. They all sang, none of us will.

I like the non-fan non-club idea. And I'm glad you can be our non-bassist, Uncle Heavy. Maybe our non-keyboardist should be mentioned, but not recruited? I mean on the Banned page we can say we have a keyboardist named, for instance, Jeb, but not put a link to his page, and not actually find anyone named Jeb?

By the way, just updated the page. My bit's notably longer now. Em and Uncle Heavy still need to weigh in with their respective biographies.

I see what Em (I think it was Em) meant about the weird forum format. I suspect that the prefrences are different than most people's. I don't mind it, but if anyone does, I know how to change it to "normal".

I assume you guys would not be interested in a record deal so let me be the first to not offer you one. I have no interest in being your non-manager but since we have a non-contract on a not to be released recording session I must insist I be credited as the Non-Producer. I also won't help with the lyrics or arrangements.
