Madeline Kahn passed away a few years back, I recall being shocked to hear it at the time...
According to imdb it was December '99 of ovarian cancer.
I caught the tail end of Blazing Saddles on TV last night
MUST get that on DVD!

That's what carried Gilda Radner away, too. Gene Wilder was Radner's husband, and he was also in a lot of Mel Brooks movies with Kahn.

Why do Geme Wilder and Mel Brooks make you cry, Michele?
I always tend to when I think of them.

Mel Brooks other early movie is great as well. "The Twelve Chairs" if you can find it. Funny and crazy like all his work but more structure to the story and less low brow humor than his late work i.e. "Spaceballs".

The only Mel Brooks movie that I really disliked was "Life stinks."
I never saw "Twelve chairs," but I've heard things about it.
Nowadays, Brooks spends his time writng Broadway musicals.

I wanted to see The Producers when it was here last year, but tickets were $75 a seat!
I wasn't real crazy about Life Stinks either, but I *love* History of the World
It's good to be the King!

The Inquisition, what a show!
You can't Torquemada anything!
Harvey Korman as Count De Money was good, too!
But seriously, "Blazing Saddles" and "Space Balls" and "The producers" are the two Brooks movies that I remember the most vididly.
(Did I say two? I meant four. )

I've never seen The Producers . Don't think I've seen Twelve Chairs, either.
I used to like To Be or Not To Be, but it's been so long since I've seen it I can't remember all of it.

I had no idea it was getting so late in the year! Halloween is coming, so I will need to throw a pumpkin party. Most Evil Pumpkin should be contacted, as he knows all about such thing....

We would have other special guests, too, such as....
--The Headless Horseman's head (the body can't make it, as he is stuck in rush-hour traffic at the Tappansee Bridge.)
--Some factory-seconds . These are more comical than evil, as they didn't make the final cut when Lucifer was inspecting the new products. Most of them can't even produce one good evil spell, so they're pretty safe, though they might be able to produce foul odors or apparate in the middle of your linguini,
--A bored skeleton has volunteered to show up, as he is growing tired of being locked in his box in the madman's castle. I don't expect him to have any trouble getting out of his box, as he has a skeleton key.
--more to be anounced

Hi, I'm Tom. I started as a typographical error Posted Oct 9, 2004
Sounds like a good lineup, Paul.
Halloween isn't a special occasion any more. Nowadays, there's scary stuff going on pretty much every day-- suicide bombers in Iraq, computers crashing because of lethal new viruses, campaign ads on TV whiule you're trying to eat dinner . When you stand in the checkout line in the supermarket, you are subjected to tabloids with pictures of skeletal or overbloated actresses (). Nowhere is safe anymore, so Halloween has lost some of its cachet.
But we'll do our best to make this Halloween scary.
