Guilt trip. Sort of.

Had a birthday, which was nice. Well, not really except for the part that I get to say phrases starting with "back when I was still in my twenties". Anyway, I had a great day. Treated myself with a nice dinner. (Well, it was lunch and the money was a present from Dad). Did a bit of shopping (well, spent a fortune, but again, the money was a present). Had a party the next day (Friday is better party-day than Thursday). A bunch of friends trying to embarras me. Had loads of fun.

After the party was time for clubbing. None of my friends joined me (I think mostly because my destination was a gay club and them being straight.. ). Not a problem, though. I was to call a couple of mates from my civil service place anyway and they joined me. Had a few drinks, as you do, and at some time one of these mates says that he didn't knew I was gay and how proud he was of me because of that. Don't really know what that was about but then he kissed me. Nothing French there but still on the lips. After a few subtle hints from the waiters that they kind of wanted to go home and we should too, he kissed me again. I was drunk and so was he. I know he's got a girlfriend (whom I've never met) and therefore I feel a bit guilty. He's the one who made the move. Am I the bad person here? Should I dig me a hole and stay there? If I'm not the baddie, why do I feel guilty?

Meeting with the boss

Had a meeting with the boss. The Big Boss. The biggest in our department (the next in line would be Deputy Mayor of the city). For once things went well. Starting next month I'll get a raise of about 200 euros and next year a minor promotion. Not complaining, me. smiley - biggrin

Done and over with

Okay then. It's been a while. Too long a while, actually. Now, though, my civil service is over. Had loads of fun, met nice people (fancied one but he's probably straight) but now I'm done. Service is over, all 395 days of it and I'm back at my old job (which pays and has better opportunities to look busy while lurking at hootoo smiley - smiley). I even managed to find my login info to this place so dear people, I'm back. I missed you.

Life in Suburbia

Well, one of these suburbian lives is now over. Five hours ago, right in front of my building an elderly woman was hit by a speeding car. I didn't know her, I knew of her though. I've spoken to her a couple of times: "no, I'm not going to give you a cigarrette". I admit, I didn't like her. She never asked for a fag, she just demanded one. I thought she was rude. She didn't have it coming, though. No one does.

I live in a relatively calm and quiet suburb, as does about 7000 other people. People with families, parents, children, pets. What makes the drivers think the road is actually a racing track? The car had to be coming real fast if it actually flipped over when it hit a parked car (after it had hit her 50 metres earlier on a bus stop). The law says the speed limit is 40 km/h. Obay it, smiley - bleeping drivers! The lit candles on the bus stop are lovely but not worth it.
