What a lovely thought. It is so nice when someone thinks of you
Last night Baggins wouldn't come in so Nessie got the torch and went to investigate. He was watching something on the path.
We have a Hedgehog! Got Baggins in and explained to him that jumping on hedgepigs is not advised .I think it was eating some stuff put out for the birds.
Oedipus remains frail but still but still eating and getting about. Next door neighbour thought he looked well at the moment
It's cold here today well compared to what it has been and overcast.I've stuck a curry in the slow cooker for dinner this evening...Nessie will enjoy it.
I don't have to go into work until next week I got the date wrong...nearly went back early It's just as well as I am a bit frail myself this week..nothing serious just middle age catching up with me
to all. have a good day and thanks again GB

the sun is out!

Dashed to the post office first thing this morning to post my parcel to Texas. It's pension day so had to beat the old dears to the counter or would be there for hours whilst the poor things remember pin numbers and so forth The baby clothes plus two packets of tea bags(she misses English tea) cost half as much again by airmail.....So thats beans on toast for the next few weeks
It was only when I was walking back I noticed..the sun is out..a lovely morning
Got back and emptied bins(bin day tomorrow) and washed up and vacuumed , answered a few messages on facebook, and ordered a shopping delivery for the weekend as suddenly realised it is the bank holiday on Monday!I'll be at work most of next week so won't have much time for shopping and will need stuff to make lunches etc...the usual boring stuff
And now I have sat down to visit hootoo before Nessie comes home ....
It is still a lovely day and the sun is still shining!
to all. Hope the sun is shining where you live.

Just got back from buying a load of baby clothes to send to my niece in Texas.Had to get some winnie the pooh sleep suits, they were soo cute and as she is expecting a girl..the obligatory cotton frilly dress with matching hat. plus some bibs ,vests, and socks.I got some second size as babies grow so quickly..Yes I know this is why I am always skint but she is my only neice and lived with me for a while.
I had to get them now even though baby not due until the end of the year as it's so hot where she lives, I needed summer weight clothes. The autumn stuff is already on the shelves and would be too hot for the little mite.. I did enjoy looking at the baby stuff though...glad I am too old to have any more though
I had to pop into next door neighbours last night as Dad was alone with toddler and he hadn't stopped screaming for an hour(toddler not dad) so I went and rescued him. Kids always shut up when I am around....Toddler decided he would be quiet and watch TV until mum got home Dad very grateful.Poor man looked absolutely passed himself.Little one has been keeping them awake at night etc. he's just at that age.Made some helpful suggestions, though not sure if it would help. Was quieter last night though..we didn't hear him. It must have been when I threathened to take him to the cats home and swop him for a cat
Talking of hot..the sun is out and I am a bit warm myself now as was dressed for rain.
I had to buy a new mug..I broke my nice face mug again It had a big chip out of it this morning. So bought a really tough looking plain purple mug...it's no use having china if it keeps breaking..earthenware it is from now on
Well better go do all the stuff I didn't do this morning because I was out shopping
to all. have a good day

not bothered

I am determined not to let JK's bad behaviour drive me from hootoo. Since I left a message on his page demanding an apology for what he said about me on the Archers board, he's not appeared
Still busy morning vacuumed all bottom floor of house, cleaned bathroom, did 3 loads of washing(last one in now) made a fruit flan and some bread buns and washed up.Will have some time to myself once washing is finished. I decided against hanging it out....looks like it might pour down any minute
Cats.. have been quite well behaved..but that is because they don't like the new hoover It sucks up anything in it's path including cat's tails.
So all quiet again and ship shape as the saying goes. I have to go back to work next week...not looking forward to it.Still it keeps me busy
to all. Have a good day.

very quiet
Posted Aug 18, 2007
It's been a very quiet and peaceful couple of days apart from Baggins catching 2 birds(both released scared but unharmed) and 2 mice (not so lucky and a bit chewed).
I hope it's not the lull before the storm There have been no nasty bills or phone calls from the bankThe rain has meant the local children have been playing indoors,so quiet evenings.Apart from next door's little boy giving the occasional wail or mad jack's house the occasional door banging or thumping(normal for them)..it's amazingly peaceful.
Nessie is going out tomorrow afternoon to meet a friend in Durham, so I hope the weather isn't too bad.
Even oedipus has been less demanding .He's very frail some days and needs a lot of attention to shut him up. .he has spent most of the day asleep on my bed on the clean duvet cover
So to all and I hope your places are also peaceful this weekend.
