Heeeeyyyyy.
I've been trying to make the effort to get back in the swing of things, but the place has moved on so much.
I was thinking of starting myself off as a newbie again with a different user name, but I've got several already and I can't remember all the passwords to get in to the accounts, so I thought I'd stick with being me.... if that makes any kind of sence?

A lot of people disguised their names just before Halloween, and it just about drove me into the loony bin.
Please stay the way you are, Bassman.

OOH, the temptation to change my name was almost overwhelming just then....
I'm sure I can behave though!
I did sign up as Mike Tyson for a while, and I used to SHOUT IN EVERY CONVERSATION and generally hack people off - which wasn't my intention at all. I thought I had quite a grasp of people's sense of humour on here - turned out I knew nothing.
I then changed the name on that sign in to Elmer Fudd, which made all the complaining more funny when you read it back.
Never mind, I've been behaving since then.

Bassman, it's good to see you back and posting. Has been a little dull round here of late, and we could use some excitement. Just don't go changing your name.

Do not feed the trolls, especially the ones inside you Bassman
See, h2g2 might be a bit quieter than it used to be, but its still a pretty damn nice place to hang out, catch up with people, etc.
Much of the debate tends to hang out over at <./>Askh2g2</.> these days, and obviously PeerReview, and meanwhile, Skanyrich and co. are slowly trying to drag h2g2 out of the Century of the Fruitbat over at the <./>AViators</.>, where lots of cool stuff is slowly appearing (even if I do say so myself ).
How you doing anyway JEllen, did you have a good birthday?
And hows the apathy coming along Paul?

"And hows the apathy coming along Paul?" [Vogonpoet]
I haven't touched it at all. It's hibernating until all this worldwide financial brouhaha blows over.

vogonpoet, busy? Yes and no. I usually read more than I post and enjoy the humour and the serious discussions. But recently I have had even less time to participate.
I'm not very good at written humour myself, and then in English...

You're going to launch into the Centurion and Brian bit of the Python movie in a bit aren't you....
