Milla has the blues again.

Just have run out of the fun. I don't think it's medical this time.

Just too much energy being poured, and it feels wasted. Is it worth the effort? Does it matter that we still exist here? That some of us try so hard, and put so many hours in, and care, and feel that so many of the discussions are confrontational, putting wedges in. Or actually not trying to be, but so many of us are so tired, and so worried about the site and it's future that we take just about any comment as criticism, or aggression, or acidic teasing, when it's actually not? I know I tend to over-interpret just anything these days.

I don't know.

I feel bad for not writing entries. But I'm not a writer, and it doesn't really feel like something I want to do.

I feel bad for not actually browsing entries very often. I wish I had a hundred hours a day and the energy and the power to bring to life all the ideas we had a year ago. But right now, I think if I tried, I'd just get complains that the work is wrong, incorrectly done, the wrong colour, smell and not enough quirky.

Maybe I should just stay away for a few days.

Milla frowns at Artemis Kitteh, and is very handy

Oh, this morning was bad. I woke up late-ish, around eight, and noticed that the bathroom door was closed (bad thing, when the kitten has started using the potted plants for potty). But she wasn't around! Poured some dry feed for her - no show.

I spent the morning folding blankets, opening closets and cupboards, disturbing the son, looking looking looking. But no kitten. The vet checkup had to be canceled. And whining smiley - wah. To facebook, to skype, to Pappa, to Mamma.

And finally, when I had collected her toys and sat down to try to work, she jumped over the beach chair that I use to block the garden door. Some spiderweb and schmutz in her fur, but happy and warm. She immediately went to eat a little, and when I was busy elsewhere, she pooped in the plant again. smiley - yuk So, now I have sprinkled pepper on the plants, hoping that will keep her out.

And then, she has napped most of the day. Must have been a big adventure!

After work, I started on the fence towards my neighbours patio. He replaced his side earlier this year, which made me realise how awful mine was... Rotting wood, not painted in ten years, nails falling out, a disgrace! So now the old wood is off, and I have cut a piece to make up for where the neighbour lengthened a post, but not quite to the same width as the original post... And the three horizontal bars are in place. Next I shall cut the planks to the right length, and start putting them up across the horizontal bars.

Milla has a Neighbour.

Indeed.

Last year, as I was home alone, watching TV late at night, someone snuck into my garden and threw a handful of gravel on my windows. I got very scared. A bit angry, because the windows were half a year old only, and now needed to be replaced. But mostly I felt vulnerable. When it's dark outside, and lights are on indoors, you don't see anything at all in the garden outside.

So I got myself a floodlight with a sensor. When the sensor picks up movement, the light goes on for about fifteen seconds. And only when it's really dark.

The man next door complained after a short while. He was bothered by the light. I explained about the intruders. Police dropped the investigation immediately, of course. No traces or leads to follow. No threats, nothing. So I got the lights, to at least blind any intruders, and possibly get a look at them.

A while back, he complained again, to R. I don't know exactly what was said. But R did not come in, saying "We have to fix the lights", so it didn't seem very urgent.

Which brings us to this morning. When I went out to pick up my morning paper, there was also a printed note, and some screws, plugs and plastic bits in a baggie. No names, but at the bottom printed "kind regards, your neighbor at 4C". Instructing me to shield the thing because it bothers him. However, since I still have no explanation - is it the light that shines too much into his garden, or is the sensor starting the light when he moves in his garden? Both perhaps? I don't know which bit to fix. I did go out, and turn the sensor away from his side, and turn the lamp downwards a bit, so that less light should fall in his garden.

Then I gathered my courage a bit, and knocked on his door, to ask which was the more important problem. But no answer. I haven't seen him all day. And I don't really want to respond with another note...

Why didn't he just talk to me yesterday, when we were both in our gardens? He is so odd...

Milla worries about the new Kitten

Last Saturday, a kitten showed up at the little golf course where my parents play. A man lives in a trailer there, and has several cats already. He avoided feeding the kitten for a few days, hoping it would find it's way home. But when it stayed he started feeding it, and gave it a litterbox - which it used, like it was well trained.

On Friday, two days ago, I brought it home. The man has enough cats, and we've been longing for a cat in the house.

We figured out it's a girl kitten, and she was very affectionate from the start, and rather playful. She figured out the litterbox, and also ate some wet food.

But she is eating less - she stopped going to the food bowl. She ate a bit when I fed her, last night. But she has been throwing up after meals. And she sleeps soooo much. And she doesn't play like the other day.

Today she ate about half a teaspoon, and drank a little, and so far she has kept it down, but she just lazes around, sleeping, and laying in the sunshine.

She has a runny right eye too, I keep washing it. And she cleans it too, as best she can.

I hope I can get a vet's appointment in the morning...

Milla has a Frustration

I really wish that Pastey didn't have to keep rescuing the server, and that we could all focus on building the framework for a functioning Guide.
