thanks! that's great, i just needed some ideas. -ing is the right ending, just like German, no? Bet you guys get real snow too?*sigh*
I don't drink at all, except for the odd
Yes, but I'm not sure they'd go out with their friends and pay to help chickens...I could put that in the, Helps Voluntary Organisations and Charities section?
ah, stupid soap operas, the best kind. Ever seen Neighbours? Spectacular today, big plane crash, everyone declaring their undenying love for evryone else (some people to people they shouldn't), screaming and generally having life-stock-taking experiencesTotally believeable, of course.
Guten Tag!!

No, we say Schifahren and Snowboarden, no ing
charities section... good idea
No, they don't show that one here.
Guten Tag!!

!! We're told in class, Skifahren and Snowboarding!
I'm starting my oral exam prep in German now, I'm either doing a composer or die Energiewende, which sounds quite intresting. If it's acomposer, which is apparently good idea, it's either one of the obvious, Beethoven or Mozart, or Hindemith.
How's architecture going? How long is your course? Just been told German course are about 7 years anyway, while in England, only architecture is really that long. Is it the same in Austria?
Guten Tag!!

Did you know that yesterday was Mozat's 250th birthday? (I think 250...)
No, Germans are shorter than ours. Mala has to study for 4 years I think, while I have 5. At least.
Everything ok, thanks. But very much to do. I had an exam in art history yesterday and I'll have one in prservation of historic buildings next Thursday... but I just can't get myself to study
Guten Tag!!

oo, yes I did, my sister told me y'day morning
I'm very confused now about the whole education system
Good luck!!! We've just finished our first set of exams, no big disasters, so fingers crossed.
Procrastination is a wonderful thing, but sometimes it leads us astray...hope you find your study-brain soon I've been the same lately, so things have, um, piled up somewhat.
Guten Tag!!

ok, I'll try to explain our school system. The Austrian one I mean.
At first everyone goes to Volksschule when they're 6 and stay there for 4 years. Then either to Gymnasium or Hauptschule.
Hauptschule lasts 4 years and then people go to some other schools where they learn job-specific things.
Gymnasium lasts 8 years but many people leave after 4 years and go to other schools, too.
After Gymnasium or the 'other schools' you can go to uni, you're about 18 or 19 then. How long uni lasts depends on the subject, but it's between 3 to 5 years minimum... only few people can do it in time, so most stay longer.
thanks, I hope it works tomorrow
Guten Tag!!

thanks for that Tav, tis very useful. some things are as we've been taught, others not.
Is there no Realschule in Austria?
I've decided to do Mozart for my oral, so, hmm, we'll see how that goes
Guten Tag!!
Vamster Posted Feb 1, 2006
It's a minute and a half long presentation, with a conversation over 5 sub-topics after that. Sounds easy when I put it like that, but, methinks not.
Guten Tag!!

Howdy! And you Tav! My H2G2 world has been quiet for some time
I fine anyway. I'm revising for A-level exams at the moment and did my German oral about Mozart last week, which went alright We shall see; the proof will be in the results in August. so my world is the boring one of work at the minute I suppose, interspersed with school events; concerts, the leaver's do, etc.
I fear it is likely to become even more boring still to outsiders: Oxford uni sent me a reading list last week , it makes tough reading in itself!
How about you? How's architecture and Austria inm general? How's physics? And how are you making money, now the the Lime Tree Café seems to have closed?
Guten Tag!!
Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor Posted May 9, 2006
Good about Mozart.
Well, I've got muuuuch work for uni, this is a really hard semester.
I passed physics on the 2nd try, thanks. ... but now I've got problems with statics.
Else I'm fine.
yea, noone went there anymore. I've got to do something, also in the German Department.
Guten Tag!!
