I have been remiss in reporting the local weather for the last couple of weeks.
We've had lots of weather... up in the 50's for a couple days, rain, then back down in the 20's.
One day we had a 5 minute blizzard. That's no joke, either - it snowed huge flakes, wind blowing and near white-out conditions. But it only lasted 5 minutes. Then it all melted off within a couple of hours.
Had another inch or so of snow a few days ago, which had mostly melted off. Then had another 4 or 5 inches yesterday/last night.
Pretty out there, and at least this snow was light and fluffy, as opposed to our usual heavy, wet (backbreaking to shovel) snows.

This could really you all off
In Townsville this afternoon it is hot and steamy. 33C and near 100% humidity Sitting in front of a large fan, as I am, is perfect Wall to wall sunshine to the east. Huge black storm clouds slowly approaching from the south-west
It is great to be back in the tropics

It's 2.30am and I've just got in from work, so no chance of getting Friday's figures, but it's currently 53/11.7, and the chances for rain tomorrow have gone down from 60% to 70%... so no chance of rain then

How is the job going?
Woke up this morning and the snow from this week has finally gone and no new snow has fallen. I went to London yesterday - when I parked my car there was a thin layer of snow all over the car park, and it snowed while I was walking from the tube to my office but by the time I left at the end of the day all the snow had gone in that part of London. There was however some snow when I got back to my car!

I'm at the difficult stage where everyone knows what they're doing except me and I have to spend much of my time standing around feeling quite useless For some reason they seem to schedule the films in all four screens to start within about 20 minutes of each other which means orders come in thick and fast for about 40 minutes
As far as the weather is concerned... rain! Not heavy, but steady, and plenty to come - almost the whole of Texas is covered by rainfall according to the radar, and plenty more is coming up from Mexico.

This must be the same weather system that's expected to make it's way up the east coast and dump more snow on us on Monday.
How much snow? Well, depends on which report you listen to.
Accuweather is in complete panic mode, calling for as much as a foot of snow (they must get kickbacks from the grocery stores for every loaf of bread and gallon of milk sold right before a storm ), whereas weatherbug and the weather channel aren't saying how much they think it'll be, only that the way the computer models look right now, we will have snow.
Fb - I'm not the least bit jeaous of your tropical heat and humidity! I much prefer cooler weather, even if it means the occasional snowstorm.

I missed the stats for Saturday, but I'm guessing we got somewhere in the region of about half an inch of rain. It was raining when I woke up this morning, and it didn't stop until late in the evening. Been quite grey and cold and dismal all day. Staying indoors kind of weather.

It was a grand day today - sunny and warm with clear skies for most of the day, and we were only a degree or two of normal temps for the time of year
Have you noticed how the barometer never seems to fall? Whenever I've done one of these reports it's always been rising, except for one or two occasions when it's been steady, but never falling

I'd be careful not to stand too near a barometer if I were you, it's likely to pop it's cork if this keeps up!
So... We have snow again! It's a winter wonderland out there, with the snow very thick on the trees, and I'm guessing about 6 inches on the ground. This one is a very wet heavy snow, so I'm very glad it's not more than that.
It was expected to start yesterday morning around 8 am, revised to start "sometime in the morning hours", which it did, but just barely. The school district called it almost perfectly, because they wanted to get in as much of a school day as possible before sending the kids home, so they set early dismissal for 11:30 AM. Shorty was upset that they'd be letting the kids out while it was snowing, and there would be accidents all over the place. (She's absolutely certain that the school teachers and administrators have death wishes against the students) So Lord Scott had said that it was *his* car she drives, and if she was afraid she'd have an accident, he'd take her, and I could pick her up when it was over.
I couldn't help but notice as I sat there waiting for her to get out shortly before 11:30 that there was no snow on the roads. Or on the ground, for that matter. And that there was no snow falling out of the sky either. Which made it seem rather silly for them to have an early dismissal because of snow. At 11:30, the first kids came out the door. I looked up and saw a single snowflake floating to the ground.
Perfect timing!
Shortly after we arrived home, the snow started falling thick and fast, although it was still several hours before the roads started to show any accumulation at all.
School is on a 2 hour delay today, but from the looks of the road, they really should cancel school altogether. That road looks like a solid sheet of ice!

Gosho, we have the same conditions in Boston that Lady Scott has in Pennsylssippi. I guess the storm's philosophy is "Equal shares of misery for all."
Frenchbean, are you in Oz now?

It's not nearly as bad out there now as I thought it would be. The temperature is up to 32F now, so things are starting to melt off a bit in the occasional sun that peeks through the clouds.
I went out and scraped some of the snow off the driveway and sidewalk, and even though the snow is pretty heavy and wet, there's not all that much of it, so it wasn't that difficult to shovel. I've seen *much* worse.
No wind to speak of, so it's actually quite pleasant out there - I *really* don't care for hot weather, not at all! Honest!

I like hot weather, Lady Scott.
Luckily, I bought a new shovel just before last Thursday's storm. It's really working out well.

I'm not really in any hurry for 80s and 90s, but some 60s and 70s would be nice...
Currently about 30

28F and breezy in Lancaster, under mostly cloudy skies. We'll probably have a few snow flurries today, just like we did yesterday.

It's 50º/10º and slightly damp this morning in Austin. There were some storms earlier (apparently), and it's been raining since around 5am. That rain is just about coming to an end but there may be more later today. I've no idea if it will end up in the north east as snow, but please don't blame me if it does

It started off very grey and a bit foggy this morning, but the clouds burned off by early afternoon and there was some pleasant sunshine It wasn't desperately warm though - quite a bit below normal for the time of year. It's not forecast to get any higher than 70/21 for at least the next eight days, although there certainly isn't any chance of a frost Temperatures should be pretty much normal or a bit cooler.

Another weekend, another band of rain on its way I've no idea how many weekends this is a row now, but there have certainly been more wet weekends than dry so far this year, although this week it did actually manage to rain on a weekday too 70% chance of precipitation on Saturday afternoon, slightly less on Sunday.
