When you walk home at half past midnight you really shouldn't arrive drenched in sweat because it really shouldn't be over 80F/27.6C at that time of the day, not to mention the humidity/heat index. That's just plain bloody wrong.

Don't know, I've never tried it. But if you walk across black asphalt in bare feet at this time of the year and during the hottest part of the day you can get blisters. No, really.

Three days of 100°+ temperatures, and 32 days without rain. However, Tropical Depression Three of this year's hurricane season has recently formed in the Caribbean Sea and is currently passing over the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. It's forecast to move north and west into the Gulf of Mexico, and possibly make landfall on the Texas coast late on Wednesday. There has been a very strong ridge of high pressure over Texas for weeks (which is why we've had such hot, dry weather), and if it holds up in the face of what could develop into Tropical Storm - and maybe Hurricane - Cindy, the storm will be deflected east toward Louisiana and New Orleans, or west toward the northeast coast of Mexico. Hopefully though, the high pressure will weaken and move off to the west, allowing the storm to move inland over Texas and drop some rain on us smiley - biggrin
