And it looks like we won't be making 100° today - currently 94° at a little after 4.30pm. It's 100° in San Antonio though, which is only about 80 miles to our south.

Oh bloody hell, I've just looked at the 8-day forecast.
Sunday: 100°
Monday: 102°
Tuesday: 102°
Wednesday: 103°
Thursday: 103°
I can't remember the last time we had a below average... or even average temperature. Just a few days of that would be nice.

Ever get the feeling you're talking to yourself?
Same old same old here. 22C or so during the day - light fluffy clouds but mainly sunshine 14C or so at night - heaps of stars.
I can see the Milky Way every night. And the Southern Cross hangs above my caravan

I'm not sure if we hit 100° yesterday (Thursday), but we sure had some rain A line of thunderstorms came together just to the west of Austin around 5pm and dropped anything from just under an inch to more than 2" around the region. Camp Mabry recorded .96" There was a good deal of thunder and lightning, including one strike that couldn't have been more than 100 yards away from where I was sitting at the time - right here in fact. and boy did it drop the temperatures - by a good 20° or more, down to the low 70s F/20s C. Overcast and much cooler this morning too - it's only 81/27 at 11am - it's been reaching that temperature before 9am for a couple of weeks.

I'm pretty damn sure we didn't hit 100° today (Friday) although it seems we had a bit of rain - a few hundreds of an inch. Don't remember it raining today... There's rain in the weekend forecast too along with near to slightly above normal temperatures.
Current predictions have Emily heading well to the south of Texas and hitting Mexico around Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

I woke up this morning thinking that it was only around 6.30 because it was so dark (and therefore I'd only had about four hours sleep ), but it was actually just before 9am, heavily overcast, and raining

Forgot to post this earlier today:
Well, since the website is throwing one of its regular wobblers, I shall have to write this offline and post it whenever the servers decide to play the game.
We didn't even make it into the 90s today, but it was pretty damn humid all day long so it felt like we did. Emily is still forecast to be heading towards Mexico instead of Texas

Today, for only the second time since I've been in Texas, I looked up into the sky to the south of Austin and saw clouds from the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of a hurricane Should see a few more tomorrow, but right now the sky is almost cloudless.

I was going to .... read the backlog , but then realised it was just you going on about how wonderful it is down there
I better post this quick before my keyboard melts!
Currently in sunny St Lou it's between 95 and 98, with a heat index of 110 or 115, depending on who you trust.
I'd whine about that, but it seems by the weather map that Hyp is already in the triple digits (real temps).
We had been forcast to hit 100 all week but I don't think we made it (altho the day isn't over yet). Last time we hit 100 was August of '03.
Key: Complain about this post
