Having the stent fitted is no bigger deal than what you've already had done - and if part of your heart has been partially starved of oxygenated blood, you should feel better for it once everything settles down.

I *am* relaxing, I promise!
I have loads of painting to do, which I am ignoring, instead I'm sat here subbing and writing
I have gone through the tiredness and will wait until tonight when I'll probably sleep like a log in the utter, blessed silence
Thanks Big Bad Johnny P, I've been told the stent-fitting will be no worse than what I had done yesterday. When they put me on oxygen in recovery I swear I have never felt so blissful I wish I'd taken a big enough
to snaffle a canister home with me

Can't comment re the oxygen, as I didn't need any.
It obviously feels a little strange while they are inflating the balloon which pushes the stent into place. I can, however, vouch for the fact that this is much less so when it is being done in a controlled fashion rather than whilst a heart attack is going on!

This is the second time I've heard British s say something along the line of "okay, now we know what to do - we'll do it some other day"
Why the don't they do it while they are up there anyway
It would save the NHS a fortune!
Anyway, good to hear you are on the way to improved health

Glad you are ok GB. From people I know who had a stent fitted it made a big difference. The sooner the better I should think, before the Christmas rush
Make sure you take it easy. Sleep well tonight. Horlicks and a lettuce sandwich should do the trick. Apparently lettuce helps us sleep

That's a line I'll always remember from "Peter Rabbit" - "Lettuce makes you soporific"
My thoughts are with you, GB.

Lettuce is one of those foods for me, something in it gives me "repeats" which are unpleasant, cucumber has exactly the same effect. I'm lucky that I can make up a great salad without these ingredients
Thanks everyone, I am
and awaiting hearing from sunny Scunny hospital.
Nobody offered me a bed bath Prof!
This month is Gordon's globe-trotting month, he was able to bring me home from the hospital yesterday morning but next weekend he goes to Poland for a week then he's home for a week then he goes to China for 2 weeks to walk the Great Wall! I wonder what the odds are of me getting a date for my stent-fitting while he's available to take me in and bring me home?

I've had a word with the highways agency and
right! first we start off at the leg junction and take the arterial way along side the elementary canal, branch off on to the trunk road and head north (unless laid down, then it could be East or West)(yes! and or South depending on which way the beds facing) take the slip road to join the aorta highway, keep on that until the intersection between capillary street and vein drive and as long as you didn't turn left at Albuquerque, you should come to the roadworks where one lane is restricted and then you can start to sort out the traffic congestion - after the proverbial mug of tea and leaning on shovel
sorted

But it's *not* turning left at Alburquerque that got Bugs everywhere but where he was headed...

Putting a stent in takes about 10/15 minutes more than an angiogram, then you have to lay absolutely still after the procedure for a few hours. - Not too much walking around once back to your bed for a day or so.
4 to 6 weeks after that, back on the treadmill and more in rehab appointments.
After the procedure, I was on cloud nine. They had to scrape me of the ceiling
get that fixed

It is wonderful what modern science can achieve - you'll be back on the dancefloor before you know it!

And going for 20 /30 minute walks - you'll love it
Like me, long walks, doing a few push ups to get the heart pumping hard, which ain't a great deal of fun but far better than pushing up daisies
You'll stay on the beat and waltz though it in quick time.
all the best
