I had a heart attack on 30/04 - I was rushed to hospital and within 2 hours of my symptoms starting, had had two stents fitted in one of my coronary arteries.

Within three weeks my recovery was such that s stress ECG showed no abnormalities, and an Echo Cardiogram showed the Consultant that I had had a heart attack, but only because she knew to look for the signs.

Going in in a couple of weeks for a "pressure wire" test on another artery to see if that also needs stenting.

None of this is to mimimise any risks etc, but as has been said earlier, they can do a heck of a lot these days, with minimal invasion.

I left my heart in San Franciscoerr! it's still there, bloody too costly to ship back

I'm not altogether surprised at that GB. Depending on where its done if they think stenting is needed they may do that at same time. As you live alone chances are they'll keep you in overnight to make sure the Collagen Plug they use to seal the artery takes ok.

I am also due another angiogram - hopefully since I won't be having a heart attack at the time - this will be as low key as these things are supposed to be.

I'm sure that all will be well - this is a very low risk procedure - when you consider what they are doing and how impossible that would have been 25 years or so ago.

I've got my date for my angiogram, 2nd October. But I have to go in the day before (my mother's birthday) for a fasting bloodtest and ECG.

if they say you need a pacemaker, tell them that you don't want someone walking next to you saying hurry up every 2 minutes
