I've rung my son and he's ringing his best friend Tom who will be leaving this area sometime Monday morning (but he has a car-full) I asked Allan if Tom could go to Mum's first then I will collect Mum and follow Tom. I don't mind driving if I don't have to navigate as well

All being well I should hear for definite tomorrow and get things finalised.

I'm sorry to be so brutal, but Ron sounds like a waste of space. I wish I could help.

Is there no-one on Hoo Too who is from, or knows Sheffield? I suppose it would be too risky to put a plea on 'Ask the Community' ?

GB, if you email me direct at zendevil addy, i will check if there are any Couchsurfer/Hospitality Club folk there, they are secure sites, lord know's i've put up enough travellers to deserve some return favours! I would only send you details of those i have actually met.

Failing all else, i would call Auntie Lil or Prof Animal, both live near enough to "know someone who knows someone" who is safe.

Forget Ron on this one. It takes a strong person, like you & hopefully me, to finally realise you are flogging a dead horse & move on.*sigh*
