Well, it would not be the first time. I spent about US$1000 to upgrade my system to play Quake once upon a time. WHy not through a few dollars at Seti by way of a faster proc eh?

I've just gone through 700 units myself now smiley - bubbly

And better still, with the new faster PC my average time per unit (which is the thing I'm after really) is crashing. I reckon I will be under 10 hours per unit by the end of the week smiley - smiley

I got a speedy new G4 with dual processors and 1 GB of memory. I thought I'd be speeding through units. It must allocate memory differently, because I'm ccccccccrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaawwwwwwwlllllliiiiiiinnnnnnngggg. smiley - sadface

Actually, I noticed an odd thing. After taking a few days to crunch a single unit, it went from Units Completed: 364 to Units Completed: 376! Has anyone else noticed this? It's the second time it's happened to me! smiley - wow

Are you sure you haven't got one of those batch process thingies for Seti units installed? You know, you grab a load of units crunch them and they all get sent back at once.

I haven't changed a thing on my settings. This is the second time it's happened (not that I'm complaining), and I've been watching it. As soon as it's done with a unit, it connects to the server and downloads another one. Maybe it's the smiley - martiansmile

Hmmmmmm

This is the first I've heard of such a phenom phenomin phenomon remarkable event!

Maybe it's a smiley - monster in the system, but I wouldn't complain either, if my stats upped by 12 when I sent back one unit.smiley - magic

Has this just been happening with the new pc, Shea? Or has it happened to you before?

It's the second time in a row it's happened to me, and it's on my "old" pc, not the new one. I use 2 computers here at work, a Pentium 4 Dell running Windows 2000, and a G4 PowerMac running OS X. I've only finished one unit on the new one. It has to run in "Classic" and not in OS X, and it's not very happy there. smiley - sadface
